I teach every child that comes into our home how to ride. Starting from the ground up. In the summer, we compete at the local gymkhanas. And are involved in 4-H and support Southern Oregon High School Equestrian Teams. I would like to start a non-competive drill team in the near future. Please let me know if you are interested. If you are a boarder with us, we aim to please and gladly take suggestions to help keep everyone happy. |
| SCOTT'S QUICK BIO Scott was born and raised in Colorado on a small farm. Has had horses most of his life. Bought his first horse when he was seventeen. He played baseball throughout school and then decided to start umpiring. He went to Harry Wendelstat school for umpiring in Florida. He has been an umpire ever since. Starting out with Babe Ruth and working his way up. He moved to Northern Oregon in 1995. Now he is one of the most sought after umpires in Oregon. Scott is also known for being the loudest umpire and even if the calls could be wrong most people would say he is fair and honest. He mainly does High School, Legion, College and even some Minors. He has always wanted to go to the majors and I hope he gets the chance. He loves children. He is always doing whatever he can to keep smiles on everyones faces. Even though he'll tell you that he doesn't like cats, he really does(they keep the mice away). If one of them goes missing for more than a day. He's one of the first to worry and go out looking. He says horses are good for nothing but wasting money, which in a way he's right, but he wouldn't trade having a horse ranch for anything. And of course, he says that Quarter Horses are always the way to go, but again he owns a Mustang/Arab mare and an Arab stallion. We work together in making this ranch a place people will enjoy. |

| JEN'S QUICK BIO I have lived here in the Rogue Valley all of my life. I learned how to ride when I was about 8 or 9. Friends had a pasture full of horses and would let us girls ride for hours on end. Of course we would just grab a horse, grab the first bridle we could find and hop on. I was always the one that was the first to gallop or try a new trick. Once in high school I gave up horses for cars. When I was little I would tell my dad what year and kind of car drove by. So once I was in high school I knew I wanted something with muscle and speed. I settled for a Toyota Celica. No muscle and not much speed, but fun. By my junior year I found my car, a 68 Plymouth GTX. I had babysat for my brothers' friends and didn't even know it was sitting in their backyard for years. It was now mine. Drag racing until the late hours of the night. If we weren't drag racing we were fourwheeling along the hills. I have always had something to do in this valley. I love helping people and loved driving around and showing people the houses that were for sale so, I started a carreer in real estate and then bought my first horse. I remember talking to a friend online and saying I wanted a ranch and to do foster care. That's when I met Scott. Once we got married we decided that we wanted to get into foster care. Back then we were living in a rented singlewide with 19 acres and two horses. After our first foster girl we weren't sure if we could do it again. It was hard seeing her go even if she was going to live with her siblings. Then we stumbled on a deal a cousin decided not to take, so we took it. And that's where we are at now. A dream come true. A ranch, lots of horses and a chance to give a good home to children that wouldn't have one otherwise. Which brings me to partly why we call this R FUNNY FARM. When I tell people I run a ranch, have four foster girls and still work real estate, they call me crazy. But this is where God put me, so this is what I will do. Oh yeah, I still have my car too. I just need to get it back on the road. Music is a passion in my life as well. Rock is what I go for first. I listen to everything though. Always a different road to take when there's a different place to go. But living with girls I have to listen to pop music over and over and over again. And when it's not pop, there's a little country in their veins. They like the rap stuff too, but that's where I think I draw the line. We're not gangsters on the streets of a huge city. We are here, in Southern Oregon and that's where I'd like to stay. BUT I'LL TURN THEM TO THE ROCKSIDE EVENTUALLY! |
