How Did M. Get Hooked Up With Her Music Producers

The idea to release a CD is not for the conventional reasons. Let me tell you the story. Last year, Before I met Majandra she was being courted by several record labels on the strength of a ten song
acoustic demo.  The demo's acoustic sound caused everyone to relate her to Jewel or Natalie Imbrulgia.  Every time someone at the labels would mention one of those folky acts Majandra ran as
fast as she could. She realized she needed a producer to make the demos sound more like her sonic vision, which is much closer to Bjork and Portishead. 

A mutual friend from Warner Bros. introduced Her to Art and Myself. We hit it off from the minute we met. Majandra was smart gutsy and wrote and sang beautifully. She looks fragile but she can outwit  and intimidate most of my guy friends.  The main reason why we allowed ourselves to become her musical slaves was because she was not at all afraid to say or do anything she felt at any time. Talented, sexy and strong.

Anyhow, the first few recordings went really well and a lot of people took notice. This reaction caused us to come up with a new plan. Rather than go back to the Labels with the 'new sound' we created, we decided to see if we could sell 10,000 units ourselves over the internet. We figured if we could accomplish that we would insure Majandra's musical vision in the hands of the Major Labels.  In other words if it is selling we could hand it over to a Label a not fear them wanting to change it.

Majandra is also setting the standards for her image. The web site, the CD packaging the posters and all the other merchandise will be 100 percent Majandra. It has been a lot of work but I know from experience that this set up work is nothing compared to compromising with a record label, so we know it will be worth it.

We plan on launching the site www.majandramusic.com. We are also offering membership to what we are calling 'The M Camp'.  Our team only consists of Majandra, Art, Myself and a few friends so we are trying to enlist the help of her top fans. So far we have had great response particularly from a fan in Maryland named Sheila. She has single handedly spread the word about 'The M Camp' to thousands of people.  With the help and support of all the great people out there like Sheila and M.'s other fans our goal of 10,000 CDs should be a piece of cake.
