disclaimer: As usual, as much as I or anyone else wants to own these people and/or Capcom...I don't!!! Rival Schools belongs to their rightful owners... man!!!! Also I took this scene from Wild Arms 1. The first part is based after the dream monster thing is defeated by Cecilia. So the people from Mediavision owns the characters of Wild Arms.

Credits: THANKS SOOOO MUCH to Sorcha who included my very first fic. I owe this one thanks to Sorcha's encouragement. THANKS AGAIN!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am Ellot, a demon that consumes nightmares. I had a twin sister who consumes dreams. She had fallen victim to the mage Cecilia's magic. I have taken it upon myself to seek revenge, but in order to do so, I require power. I have tried to feed upon the humans in Filgaia, but because of those accursed dream chasers, their hearts are filled with love and hope. I cannot enter their hearts, I cannot probe their minds, I cannot create nightmares and feed!!!

The elders have already told me to stop my quest. I should concentrate more on aiding the higher demons in the destruction of Filgaia. What do these old croons know? They are never in the field of battle, they're always somewhere in the other realm. Tucked away in their councils, in their meetings, in their sessions. They leave all the true fights to us younger and 'lesser' monsters and demons. They no longer hold, nor deserve my respect.

I have read in some ancient tome of traversing to other realms. That was just a legend, the elders had told me. But, what else was there to lose? I had to seek revenge, one way or the other. And tonight, I shall perform the ceremony. I had already anticipated, the elders' discovery of my plans. But by they it will be too late, far too late to stop me from my journey. And as I swore upon my sister's grave, I shall seek my revenge!!!

My journey through time and space has been a success. What sort of beings inhabit this land? I stand before them, but they do not see me... do I even exist here? Have I lost my physical body and am now just a spirit? Or possibly in this world, demons and monsters only exist in legends and stories. Perhaps, that holds true to this world.

I have searched this new land. Those humans are having to deal with serious matters. Their hearts and minds are pre-occupied with fights, pain, vengeance, betrayal and world domination. I have been fortunate to encounter such beings. This world will suite my needs nicely. Already I have found some possible victims. All I need do, is to wait for the perfect moment, and I shall strike.

"Shoma, you should have apologized to those guys!" Natsu scolded.

"Why should I?! My brother was attacked. Don't you understand?"

"Why are you so selfish? You are so immature!"

"Shut up! You never seem to understand my feelings!!!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah yes, here are some of them now. As I watch them fight against each other, I am sure that I see some hesitations emanating from both the female and male. These three have such remarkable spirits to feast upon. The quiet one, his mind and heart, too silent, his mind is too strong for me to enter. The female, her spirit is so bold, but that I see is just a facade for a more demure personage. She has inner fears, silent dreams, and some secret desires. Should my sister be alive, she could have easily devoured this woman's dreams. The one carrying the large bat, so reckless, so oblivious to reality. He doesn't seem to understand the consequences of his actions.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The battle ended as Natsu fell to the ground. She struggled to stand but could only kneel. Both Shoma and Natsu apologized for their actions and shortness of temper. Roberto shook his head and helped his friends up. Shoma had managed to gain his footing however Natsu wasn't so fortunate. Her entire body ached from the fight.

"Shoma, please take revenge for me... I don't think... I can go... any further."

"This is bad, you have a terrible fever. Natsu, go back now, leave everything to us." Roberto told her. As Natsu limped away, Shoma's guilt for his inability to protect his brother was added with Natsu's condition.

"K'so!! I can't seem to do anything right!"

"Well, we can't do anything else for today. Let's continue this investigation tomorrow." Roberto suggested, seeing as how stressed Shoma was. Having no reason to object, Shoma agreed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

He is perfect!! The one called 'Shoma' shall be the first that I will feast upon. It should be easy to probe his mind of any weakness to use to my advantage. And as I explored his inner psyche, I realize that this young man was going to be easy to deal with.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shoma lay on his bed. He was just staring up at the ceiling for a long time. Like the past nights that week ever since the attacks started, his sleep had been short and restless. And tonight wasn't going to be any different he was sure of that, little did he know that it was going to be even worse. All day yesterday and all night long he had been blaming himself for his brother's injuries.

"It's because I wasn't there to protect him!" he mentally chided himself. Natsu's weakened condition returned to mind.

"I pushed her too much, just as I always have. I'm so stupid!!" He closed his eyes and felt strangely light. Something was not right, something in his instincts told him something was amiss. Shoma's eyes flew open and he found himself dressed in his baseball uniform. He was lying down but he quickly got up. He realized that he was no longer in his room at home. In front of him was a glass wall, at least it seemed like glass to him.

"What the?" he gasped. Lights suddenly flashed on and it took a while for Shoma's eyes to focus. But what he saw was nothing he had ever anticipated.

Shuichi was standing before him on the other side of the glass wall, except he was uninjured. Shoma could see Gorin High School appear before his eyes and Shoma realized that Shuichi was at the baseball field. Shuichi gathered his things and left the field. Shoma was confused, what was happening? What was going on? Shuichi kept walking home, when from behind, two thugs appeared.

"Aniki watch out!!" Shoma yelled. But Shuichi didn't seem to have heard him. The two thugs were closing in on his brother and one of them yanked Shuichi by the shirt.

"Hey it's Shuichi! You do remember that your team defeated ours at a baseball tournament right? And you do know about our gang's motto, don't you?" The other one answered for Shuichi

"Victorious we'll leave 'em alone. Defeated we'll get even."

"And since you're the star of the team, we'll have to start with you!" and with that, they punched Shuichi in the stomach.

"STOP IT!!! Leave aniki alone!!" Shoma hollered. Shoma started to ram the wall with his fists. But, what he thought to be glass turned out to be quite the opposite. No matter how much Shoma tried, nothing could break the barrier. Shoma couldn't do anything but watch as his brother is beaten up. He could hear his brother's agonized cries of pain. Shuichi was bleeding badly from the pummeling. And then came the shattering of his arm.

"That should teach you a lesson." the first thug scoffed and kicked the downed figure of Shuichi in the stomach. Shuichi was left lying on the streets, clutching his broken arm in pain.

"Aniki..." Shoma whispered. Shoma saw everything fade to black, save for Shuichi's battered body. And soon, that as well faded into darkness.

Shoma looked around, searching for some way to get out. Anger was consuming him quickly and he had to do something about it. He saw a lighted doorway. Shoma ran to it and found himself in another room. As he walked in, the door silently closed and disappeared. The wall were made of the same thing the other wall was as Shoma observed. He turned to leave but found the door to be gone.

"K'SO!!! Not again!" Shoma began to utter several profanity words when the room darkened. The glasslike wall lightened and Shoma saw this time, Natsu. She was in the state after they fought each other.

"Natsu?" Shoma asked. Natsu didn't seem to notice Shoma. She began to limp to school to gather her things. He wanted to help her in someway, to be of use to her for a change, instead of causing her trouble as per usual. But like before, the wall stopped him.

As Natsu limped home, two thugs followed her.

"These are the same ones who injured aniki." he realized. "Natsu!!! Be careful, look out!!" Natsu looked back, had she heard him?

"Dare da? Why are you following me?"

"Aren't you the chick that punk Shoma hangs out with?"

"Ch- chick? How rude! How dare you insult me like that!"

"Heh! Not bad, Shoma can really pick 'em." the other commented as a lewd smirk formed on his face. Natsu flinched as he looked her over.

"I'm warning the two of you. Don't try anything funny with me or I'll-"

"Or you'll what? You're in no shape to fight." one of them snickered. Shoma cringed at what he said.

"I'm to blame..." he reminded himself.

"What do you want?" Natsu demanded.

"Well you see, we wanna get back at Shoma for messin' with us when we have some fun."

"Yeah, so we figured, why not get personal? And what better way than with his friends and family?" Natsu gasped

"You were the ones who attacked Shuichi?"

"Hey, Shuichi was taken care of for other reasons. Since we get bored beating up the same person, we'll go for someone else." Natsu broke out in a cold sweat, she took a step back and they took a step forward. She couldn't fight back, she knew that. Natsu decided to make a run for it. She ran as quickly as she could, but her injuries slowed her down. To the point they caught up with her and dragged her into a dark alley. Shoma felt the same frustrations and helplessness as he saw the two of them rape Natsu.

"STOP!! STOP IT!! DON'T!!" Natsu cried, "SHOMA!!!" Natsu was crying, her tears were flowing hard. She was screaming only his name now, calling out to him, hoping that he'd suddenly be there to save her.

Shoma fell to his knees. He shut his eyes and covered his ears. He couldn't stand it any longer. But he could still see and hear Natsu screaming in his mind. He could see his brother in pain and hear the blows being dealt to him. This was too much for Shoma. All the pent up anger, all the frustrations that were built up and all guilt contained in his heart broke loose.

"K'SOOOOO!!!!!!!" he yelled. Shoma flew into a fit of rage as all his vigor was directed in one solid blow to the wall. And unexpectedly, the wall began to crack. As the cracks grew and lengthened, the glasslike wall indeed became glass. As it shattered, the images of Natsu and his brother shattered as well. Shoma was engulfed in a flood of light and when he could see, Shoma had never imagined what he would encounter.

"What the hell are you?" he gasped. Shoma saw a catlike demon, with blue-black fur and red stripes running down its sides. It eyes were lilac in color and it snarled to reveal its sharp canines. Shoma felt an ominous aura emanate from this creature.

"Were you the one messing with my head? How dare you bring those I care for into this sick world!! Did you do this to other people?" Silence was its only response. "Why the hell aren't you answering me?!" Shoma was lost his temper again.

"If you won't talk, I'll have to beat the answers out of you!!" The demon lunged at him with frightening speed. Shoma didn't see the demon's attack in time and was slashed badly on the shoulder. As blow per blow landed on Shoma's body, he realized that his skills were no match for this thing.

The creature was playing with Shoma, like a cat does with its prey. Shoma hated the monster, hated losing, hated not being able to fight back, hated the fact that if he fails to kill this thing Natsu and everyone he cared for would have to suffer like he did. Suddenly, Shoma found himself surrounded by a sphere of light. Within the sphere, Shoma felt calm and at peace for some reason. Three figures appeared before him.

"Aniki? Natsu? Roberto?" Shoma gasped.

"We are and we aren't. We are the guardians of Courage, Love and Hope. These three people are the representations you have in your world. 'Shuichi' your brother, is the manifestation of Courage. 'Roberto' as he is known, is the epitome of Hope. 'Natsu' as you call her is the embodiment of Love. We are not of your world and neither is this demon. We have read your mind, we have seen you heart, and we have gone into your soul. You have deemed yourself worthy of our assistance. Take our powers and banish this evil from your world. We know that those living in this realm are already suffering." Shoma felt a strange feeling spread throughout his body. It was a warm numbness that enveloped his entire being. From his hands glowed a light so pure, a light so strong, a light that was growing more powerful. His vigor, all of his courage, all of his hopes, and all of his love flowed into the radiant sphere.

The demon clawed at the barrier separating it from its quarry. And with each strike, the barrier weakened, until the demon had destroyed it. Shoma saw the creature, he held the glowing orb within his hand in front of him. He closed his eyes and drew back his arm. And with the last of his vigor, he hurled it at the demon. The orb of light grew as it collided with the demon. But it seemed to be fighting the sphere's powers.

"Aniki... is the manifestation of courage..." Shoma thought, "I know that I can accomplish anything thanks to him..." the light shone brighter, grew larger in size and the demon faltered back. But still kept its ground. It pushed forward, trying to shove it away.

"Roberto... is the epitome of hope..." he recalled the guardians telling him, "he never did give up on me. Even though I was ready to quit school... Roberto was always there to help me..." the sphere illuminated once more. The creature fell to its knees, but it still continued to fight.

"Natsu... is the embodiment of love..." he reminded himself. "Natsu... I never seem to get my feelings sorted... I always assumed there would always be tomorrow. If I don't live through this... if there's any way for you to know or hear this, Aishiteru..." and with that, the sphere exploded with a sheer brilliance of light. The demon chanted the words to return to his own world. And before he was entirely destroyed he managed to travel back to Filgaia.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

DAMN him!!! How could such a weak minded person break through my illusions? I do not understand, these people have no connections to the guardians, and yet here is one who destroyed my magic. How is this possible? HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! I should have taken better measurements against him. I could return there once more, take hold of someone else, one with a weaker mind. Wait... what is this? A voice in my mind? It sounds so... familiar...

"Demon Ellot, devourer of nightmares, brother of the dream eater."

Elders? How were you aware of my return?

"You have violated the elder's orders, for a lesser demon, the fate is death! You shall be sent back to the other realm. We have seen what is in store for you there, and we condemn you to your demise! BE GONE!!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------

NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I am back to the other world. I am back to the explosion of the guardian's power!! I am going to DIE!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The demon's body was utterly destroyed, and with his end, so has the illusionary world he created. Shoma fell onto his bed, exhausted. All his strength was used up in his battle with the demon. His sleep was that of a well deserved rest for one so weary as him. The guardians had erased the memories of themselves and the demon. For if Shoma remembers, the balance between the two worlds and countless others would be altered for eternity. However, the guardians kept their essences within his heart. For they knew that he would be facing trials very soon. And they knew he would need Courage to fight, Hope to strive, and Love to protect.
