An Untitled Song Fic by Oykarashi

Author's note: This fic is supposed to have taken place before Daigo came in picture. It's supposed to be
something from Edge's past. The original lyrics are in Filipino so I had to translate it. Do not take
the lyrics literally, it's supposed to be symbolic. Almost forgot, the song is in past tense, but the
story in some parts isn't okay?

Disclaimers: I do not own the song and the characters. The song belongs to Parokya ni Edgar and the characters
                            are owned by Capcom.

Hoy, hoy, Buloy, na alala mo pa ba
                        Nung tayo'y nagsasama?
                                            ********************
Hey, hey, Buloy, do you still remember
                        When we were together?

Edge stared out of the classroom. The clouds looked as if they were preparing to rain. He didn't care, Edge never cared much about anything. Except his gang and their fights. Edge began to think of someone he knew a while back. Edge could remember the way he looked very easily. He was taller than Edge, with short red hair and an evil glint in his black eyes. Edge could recall the guy's battle cries as they fought with a rival gang. Edge remembered having lots of fights together, teaming up was a favorite of theirs. Now that he thought about it, Edge never knew his name.

Hoy, hoy, Buloy, na alala mo pa ba
Ang iyong mga sinabi, nung ako'y may problema?
                                               ********************
Hey, hey, Buloy, do you still remember
What you told me when I had problems?

Edge gathered his things, an assortment of knives and blades stuffed in his jacket. As he walked home, he couldn't help but sigh. Tomorrow, he had to go back to school, he had to listen to his teachers drone on and on. Tonight he had to listen to his mother scold him, he had to endure his father's lecturing and his older siblings' insults to his lifestyle.
"Ain't life grand?" he sarcastically stated to no one in particular. The memory of the guy popped into his head again.

                        Ang sabi mo:

                Lahat ng problema'y kayang lampasan!
                        Basta't tayo'y nagsasama, at nag-iinuman!
                                                  ********************
                        You said:
                        Any problem can be overcome!
Just as long as we're together and drinking!

"Edge-san, what's up?" the guy asked.
"Hn! My parents are yappin away about my behavior. As usual, my brother and sister keep telling em everything I do that they think is wrong." Edge grumbled.
                "That's rough."
"Tell me about it! I am so ticked off!!"
"Can't say I don't know what you're going through. Same thing's happening over at my house."
"I guess I'm not the only one then." Edge grinned slightly.
"Whaddya say we go over to Gorin and knock a couple of heads around? It'll cheer us up ne?" he suggested. Edge grinned,
"You know, you make a lot of sense sometimes!"

Hoy, hoy, Buloy, na alala mo pa ba
Nung ako ay na kick-out, kasi daw ako'y tanga?
Hoy, hoy, Buloy, na alala mo pa ba
Nung ako ay napalayas ng aking ama't ina?
                                                        ********************
Hey, hey, Buloy, do you still remember
When I got kicked out, because I was stupid?
Hey, hey, Buloy, do you still remember
When my parents threw me out?

"What?! Another disciplinary sanction?! This is the third one this week Eiji!!" his mother shrieked. Edge's father glared at him, shaking his head in shame. Both his brother and sister looked at him with disgust.
"I can't believe we're related to a loser like you Eiji." his sister muttered.
"Why don't you get a job or something? You're always causing trouble at school! It's a wonder why they haven't kicked you out!" His brother continued. Edge continued to sulk at the dinner table and ignoring his family.
"That does it young man! Don't set foot in this house until you get your act together!!" his father yelled. Edge looked up, this was new. His parents only grounded him or cut his allowance or something. This was the first time they threw him out of the house.

Nangiyak-iyak na ako, pero sabi mo ay okey lang yan!
                         Basta't tayo'y nagsasama, at nag-iinuman!
                                                       ********************
I was practically in tears, but you told me it's okay!
So long as we're together and we're drinking!

"Damn it! Up yours old man!!" Edge yelled defiantly as he picked his things up. "What am I gonna do now?" he griped. Edge trudged to Gedo High School, he'll stay somewhere in the classrooms. At least the teachers won't accuse him of being late.
As he continued to walk, he heard a brawl going on. Even in his state, Edge could never pass-up a chance to watch a fistfight. He went to the direction of the sounds and saw the guy from school being pummeled by a rival gang with a skull shaped pendant as their signature. Edge decided it was best to help him out, hey what else was there to lose?
"Bloody Festival!!" Edge said. The others were caught off guard and the guy managed to recover.
"Team up?" he asked Edge. Edge smirked, grabbing one of the opponents by the collar.
                 "What else?"
"Gang Buster!" The two proceeded to beat their opponent up.
"Who's next?" Edge taunted. The remaining fighters backed down and turned tail.
                 "Edge-san, arigato."
"Nah, no problem. Like you say, when we're fighting, nothing matters except winning." Edge shrugged. The guy just laughed,
                 "Sayonara Edge-san. See you tomorrow."
                 "Hai, see you." he waved.

Kaya naman ako bilib sa iyo.
                         Kasi parang napaka-tibay mo.
Lahat ng harang, ay kaya mong daanan.
Basta't mayron bentang alak, diyan sa may tindahan.
                                                       ********************
                         That's why I admired you.
It's as if you're so tough and strong.
                         You can manage any obstacle
So long as there's liquor being sold in a store.

As the guy walked away, Edge couldn't help but feel a bit jealous. This guy was like him. People think they're nothing but trouble, while Edge got mad and depressed over their opinions, this guy continued to smile.
"What I wouldn't give to be like him." Edge sighed. He gathered his things and headed for school. As he continued on his way, Edge began to think about himself and the guy. Edge could understand this guy and he could understand Edge. Both of them were almost the same, juvenile delinquents, constant brawlers, members of an outstanding family, he could go on and on. The only thing they hadn't in common, was the guy never stopped smiling.
"Who cares what others think? Let's just go on with our lives and enjoy every battle we have!!" he once exclaimed after Edge told him of his latest troubles.

Hoy, hoy, Buloy, na alala mo pa ba
Nung araw na nadedok ang aso mong si Orla?
Hoy, hoy, Buloy, na alala mo pa ba
Nung ika'y tumawag sa 'min, at ika'y umiiyak?
                                                          ********************
Hey, hey, Buloy, do you still remember
                            The day your dog died?
Hey, hey, Buloy, do yo still remember
When you called me up, and you were crying?

Edge's father somehow managed to forgive his delinquent son and let him come home.
"Things are getting better." Edge thought to himself as he received his latest test. He could hardly believe he passed it.
"And I didn't even study for it!" he smirked. He turned around the classroom to show off and saw the guy. He was holding a small pendant in his hand. Edge walked up to him,
"Hey there! What did you get in the test?" Edge asked. The guy didn't seem to hear him, he just kept staring at the small jewelry in his palm.
"Oy, what's wrong with you?" Edge asked again, wondering why his friend wasn't his usual happy self. The guy looked up, his eyes were strangely cloudy, as if he lost his spirit.
"Edge-san," he answered, his voice weak, "my sister died last night. I gave her this pendant after saving my allowance and the money I got from the other guys. I don't know why those thugs decided to beat her up. I mean, she was just a kid. She was supposed to go to high school after this year. She- she couldn't take injuries and she lost a lot of blood... She- she- I'm sorry Edge-san, I want to be alone for a while."
                    "Uh... sure, catch you later?"
"Yeah, later at the brawl." he answered.

Tapos, pagkatapos non, kay tagal mong nawala.
Nagulat na lang ako, nung narining ko ang balita.
Akala ko pa naman, na marunong kang magdala.
Nalaman ko na lang, na ika'y nagpakamatay na.
                                                       *********************
After that, you disappeared for so long.
I was shocked when I heard the news.
I thought you practiced what you preached.
I found out then, that you had killed yourself.

It had been two weeks since Edge last saw the guy. Gang fights weren't as fun as it used to be. It was getting harder for him to team-up with others when they never decided whom would team-up with whom.
"Damn! I wish he'd get here soon! Where the hell is he?" Edge gasped as he felt a punch land on his stomach. He fell to the ground, clutching his middle, the attacker lunged at him but Edge leapt up into the air and hurled a knife. The battle lasted longer than usual, but Edge's gang was still the victor. He gave his victory taunt and left.
The next day, Edge wondered why everyone was gathered around the construction site near the school.
"What's going on here?" he asked, trying to see what everyone was staring at. As he made his way to the center, Edge felt a shiver crawl up his spine. There, lying in a bloody pool, was his friend.
"What the-?!" he gasped. His friend was dead, his body was covered with bruises and almost every single bone was fractured. Edge then noticed something in the guy's grasp. He unclenched the guy's fist and saw it was the pendant of a skull. Edge's face darkened, he was going to get revenge, he would see to that.

Edge tracked the gang down . He burst in the gang's hide-out and began beating them up. Edge had never fought with so much rage and anger before.
"Why did you kill him?" Edge demanded, grabbing their leader by the neck.
"He attacked us first. He said we were nothing but bugs that he could easily crush!! You do understand why we had to teach him a lesson!!!" the leader answered. Edge snarled and hurled him to the ground.
"I see, you should understand why I'm going to have to do this to you then." Edge took out a knife.
"Tell me something, why would he insult you guys like that?"
"I... don't know what you mean..." he answered. Edge frowned and drove the knife into the leader's shoulder. The leader howled in pain,
"Alright, alright, we beat his sister up. We wanted to get back at him for beating us up the last time!!"
"Another thing, why was he trashed so badly? He can whup your a** easy."
"He- he didn't fight back." Edge twisted the knife in the shoulder,
                   "I don't believe you!"
"I swear it!!! He just stood there and let us beat him up!!! It's the truth!!!"
'So he left himself at the mercy of these guys...' Edge thought. He stood up, turned around and walked away. The leader got up silently and tried to land a punch on Edge. But Edge kicked sand in the leader's eyes and hurled three more knives at him. The leader fell to the floor in a pool of his own blood.

                        Hoy, Buloy, nasaan ka man,
Siguradong, kawawa ka, malamang walang alak diyan.
                         Hoy, Buloy, nasaan ka man,
                         Siguradong hindi ka namin, malilimutan.
                                                      ********************
                        Hey, Buloy, wherever you are,
I'm sure you're so sorry, cuz there's no liquor there.
                        Hoy, Buloy, wherever you are,
I'm sure that we will never forget you.

Edge shook himself from his journey on memory lane. It was only then he noticed it was raining. The sky flashed and rumbled ominously. He was completely soaked but he didn't care. After all, what was there to care about? His gang wouldn't care about getting wet, fights were a lot more fun when the weather was like this. Even the guy enjoyed the rain.
Edge frowned, he suddenly felt cold. He didn't try running home, there was nothing he liked there. Just the usual arguments with his parents and siblings.
"What would he do right now?" he wondered. He looked down, sighed and laughed.  "What would he do? Why he'd probably go find some guys to beat up!! That's what!!"

Hoy, hoy, Buloy, para bang nalimut mo na,
Ang iyong mga sinabi, nung ikaw ay buhay pa.
                                                       ********************
Hey, hey, Buloy, it's as if you've forgotten
Those things you told me, when you were still alive.

Edge raced off into the rain, hoping to meet some of his fellow gang members.

                                THE                                                            END

Okay, okay, my first song fic. It's not as nice or as profound as the others I've read. I know, the guy doesn't have a name, I can't make up names!! So sue me. (on second thought don't, I haven't the money to pay you.)  Just send me you comments to [email protected]. Thanks for reading!!!
