Tired of drawing the pictures in the book, I found a few pictures on the computer to attempt. I printed them in black and white. This was my first solo attempt at drawing. It is good enough to tell who it is (if you know her hehehe), but it kinda looks off. Baby sister should be proud she was my first personalized portrait (despite making her cheeks too puffy):)

Ok, Ok, I know this was a bad drawing, but it cracks me up so I didn't try to fix it hehehe But you should still be able to figure out who it is. Hi Keeker :)

I continued on with the family theme by attempting to draw my niece. I couldn't get her mouth right for ANYTHING!!!! It was driving me nuts! So I settled for erasing it and not finishing the drawing. Amanda, your mouth was too hard to draw!

I wasn't very happy with my drawings, so I went back to the book and drew this little fella. Ok, so his right eye is a tad big, but how do you know he really doesn't look like that? hehehe

I kept drawing the pictures in the book. These were illustrations on showing the differences in features of different types of people. Can you see the difference? I feel like I am really struggling getting things down right. Getting both eyes to match, the nose to fit, and the mouth to work right, getting face creases (wrinkles or whatver) to show right, it is all so difficult!!! Sometimes I get it right, sometimes I don't, I just don't have the mastery over it, yet.

This looked like a hard picture to draw, so I drew it. The book was showing how expressions change the way the face (eyes, eyebrows, and so on) is affected by mood.

This was just one of the books illustrative pictures. But I drew it anyway. Drawing teeth is TOUGH! Heck, drawing anything is tough!

Realizing I am having problems getting eyes to match, I tried to draw the eye page. I goofed up on that one picture, I accidently was a half inch off in my eye placement, and it really shows, though she could be a midget and her eyes just look like that, right?

This was actually supposed to be the FIRST drawing of a full face that I did in the book, but at the time I didn't have all the materials, and did a quick drawing on scratch paper and trashed it. I was REALLY DISAPPOINTED in how this one came out. It is kinda pathetic! Hair driving me nuts, it just won't come out like it is supposed to! I almost didn't scan this picture, it seems like I am getting worse! heheh

I had just gotten a Men's Journal magazine in the mail. So I looked through it to see if any pictures were big enough for me to draw. This guy (from a Nautica ad) was all I could find. The way I drew him he kinda looks like a younger gay John Travolta hehehehehehe He doesn't look quite like that in the ad, but I am a struggling artist! Excpet my struggle is with actually the art, since I don't try to make a living out of it, and a GOOD thing too!!! I almost didn't put this picture up either, it makes me look fruity when the picture looks fruity, and I'm not fruity hehehe

I thought my ear drawings were looking shabby, so I drew the sample ears from the book. To put this in a time frame, the ears were drawn Friday, November 9, 2001.
I like some of what I have done, and some of it is awful. But my biggest problem is consistancy! It is like in one picture maybe I get face wrinkles just right, but in another they look pathetic. If I can get a little more consistant, maybe I will start producing better work :) 1
