A simplified version of CAMEDIA C5050ZOOM will be available in the near future. Compact digital camera of higher resolution is under development.
The first batch of the Four Thirds System digital SLRs will be released by Olympus, Fujifilm and Kodak respectively. The cameras adopt a standard lens mount and image sensor of the same size. Lenses from different manufacturers are interchangeable.This increases the choice of lenses available. To shorten development time, the optical design of the OM System lenses will be modified for use in the Four Thirds System.

4/3" CCD Digital SLR with Interchangeable Lenses
Olympus Japan revealed at Kodak e-Revolution 2002 that the new digital SLR will be formally announced at the Photokina 2002 in this autumn.
A working prototype of the camera has already been made. A new interchangeable lens system with a standard lens mount will be developed.
Olympus hopes that other camera manufacturers will adopt the standard lens mount.
The plan of the new concept SLR system that stresses compactness, easy operation, high picture quality and enhanced marcophoto function was outlined in spring last year. (source: digitalcamera.jp)

It is a camera for teenagers to take snapshots. The final design was selected after conducting group interviews to teenagers in London, New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
i snap has already become a popular camera in countries outside Japan. The small and light body is in translucent pearl white color with a vivid blue color bar from the side to the top. It can be easily held by both hands. The lens, viewfinder and flash are orderly located within the design motif of a blue circle.
