Welcome to the world of Electronic Federations/Fantasy wrestling/E-wrestling or best known and my personal favorite term: E-feds. Let me first say- A lot of people go to their fullest extent to ridicule E-wrestlers and staff. I've heard every waking term from Geek, loser, no-life, etc, etc, etc. It goes on and on. What the majority of these people lack is open-mindedness. The main slew of these people lack intelligence. Instead of offering myself into a battle of wits, let me explain what an E-fed is all about in my humble opinion. The main idea of an E-fed is a group of people gathered together to act out scenes and careers of a wrestler and or wrestlers. The only way I've seen this to happen is online. The first e-feds were conducted by e-mail (from what I hear). This is done by roleplaying as the wrestler of one's choice. A basic roleplay usually consists of a few paragraphs containing a scene and a description of why and how one's wrestler will defeat his oponent. A lot of roleplays or R-Ps tell a story about where the wrestler is. This can be in the ring or in a backstage area or even at the wrestler's home and other places. And it's now even easier since the creation of online message boards and free webpage hosts. A president or (fed-head) reads the r-ps and uses a point system to see who wrote the best r-ps and will win the named title. I have yet to see a prize of money but mostly the competing e-wrestlers get a great piece of mind knowing that they defeated others and get bragging rights and respect. This is purely on a volunteer basis. And most of all, they have fun doing it, so cash prizes are not a big issue. A great deal of work goes into being successful in an e-fed on the wrestler and staff's part. But when you finally become a veteran, you'll find that your basic typing skills have grown, your grammar and punctuation are much better your creativity and plain discipline are at much higher levels. I find that e-feds have many great benefits that the hecklers take for granite. I don't see many down sides to being a part of an e-fed besides the fact that many friendships are torn apart and arguments bloom over who's better. This is basic competitiveness and will always play a major part in having a successful e-fed. The president MUST be the peacekeeper, the median in his/her e-fed. He/she must keep order and not play favorites to his/her friends. Because to start a famous e-fed it usually starts with friends as the first members. It is the presidents' job to make sure that the best man wins. Some people just can't believe that they were defeated and use the favoritism card. This will erupt into an all out war and only end up hurting the entire fed in the end. So the president must be very careful to choose the winner carefully. It is a tough load on the president's shoulders to keep the peace and still bust their ass writing all the matches and keeping up the fed. So most prez' hire other key staff members, such as a vice-prez and commissioner. The work order is cut and it helps to keep the main goal of an e-fed alive: Have FUN! Now, the explanation to all the haters and hecklers would be: An e-fed is for wrestling fans of all ages to have FUN. The large portions of haters are not wrestling fans. This is the reason that e-feds exist, to portray what they enjoy, wrestling. I wouldn't expect to have a non-wrestling fan like e-feds. But I hope this makes them understand why we do it. It's not about having no life or being a nerd. Some of the coolest people I know online own or play in an e-fed. It's a simple past-time activity. A hobby if you will. In conclusion: E-feds are meant to be a fun activity. It doesn't matter how old or what gender you are. If you enjoy writing and love competition join one today. If you aren't creative and can't read or write and hate wrestling, please by all means stay away.
