| LOCATION +++++ |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Prime location on the strip, right across from Caesars Palace. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| RATES $$$ / $$$$ |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Regular rooms will be priced moderately. Renovated rooms (called "GO Rooms") are $50 - $100 higher which, I think, is too much extra to pay for a not-very-big room. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Rooms are moderately sized; there's enough room for a desk and a sitting area; the bathrooms are pretty small and ordinary The windows, while not quite floor-to-ceiling, are wall-to-wall, and open to either a view of the strip, or the lush "Wildlife Habitat." The Box-C- shaped hotel tower was built in three phases, which can mean 156 rooms on just one floor. Try walking from one end to the other. (Bring food and water!) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mid-to-large size casino lacks something I can't put my finger on. I want lots of fun with $10 - $15 minimums at table games and tight slots. There's a blandness about this property that is not becoming of the legendary name. Perhaps with several ownership changes over several years, it has a personality crisis. I'd rather gamble at Harrah's cramped overpopulated casino than this one. This place is more nice than it is fun. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| One of the best pools in Vegas that you don't have to pay a fortune for. This has the water slide, the waterfalls, whirlpools, and lush grounds that make it special. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Adequate free parking in the rear garage, but access is difficult, as it is for hotels between Sands/Spring Mountain Road and Flamingo Road. From Flamingo Road, turn onto Audrie Lane and then turn left for Flamingo garage. It can be a very long walk from the garage to your room, especially in the newer sections of the building. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| ATTRACTIONS ++ / +++ |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The legend of Bugsy Siegel, the Wildlife Habitat, and house comic George Wallace and headliner Toni Braxton. There's also a monorail stop here. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| FOOD ++ |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There's no cheap fast food, and if you're willing to spend some bucks to eat, you will be drawn to restaurants at Caesars Palace across the street. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| WALKING DISTANCE +++++ |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Fountains of Bellagio, Mirage Volcano, Sirens of Treasure Island, Monorail, Fashion Show Mall, Eiffel Tower Experience at Paris, Desert Passage Mall at the Alladin. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The hotel is nice, it's legendary, centrally located, but it's not really much fun.I'd stay here to be comfortable and then decide if I want to go slummin' (Casino Royale, Barbary Coast, O'Shea's) or splurgin' (Caesars, Bellagio) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Flamingo is the top of the line of the 50's Rat Pack Era hotels, but nothing original but the name survives from then. Sahara, Riviera and the Tropicana aren't as desirable, but touches of old school Vegas can still be found there. Comparable hotels include Harrah's (rooms smaller, but more nicely appointed,) Bally's (even bigger rooms and even more dull) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| ATTRIBUTES +++ / ++++ |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Best location in town, affordable, lush pool, nicely kept. You'll feel dignified but not snooty staying here. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
