(posted) August 9th - Thanks to all our fans old and new who made it out to the 3rd Annual Charlotte KISS Expo in NC on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th. The party started early on Friday when THE RENEGADES OF SLUTS, along with Dick Worker, The Platinum Southern Bellz, Dick Sugar, Dick Licker, Dick Abstinance, Dick Expo and several others were picked up in a private bus and taken to Twin Peeks go-go bar for the world premiere of the new R.O.S. single "Carolina Fine". After being announced over the club PA, the DJ debuted the song (written by request for XXX star Julie Robbins) to a packed out, standing room only crowd. After a few hours, many drinks and dances we boarded the bus and were whisked back to the Hilton. On Saturday night, The "We Are One" pre-Expo party took place, hosted by The Southern Platinum Bellz. Over 250 people were on hand for the party which included raffles, door prizes, a tattoo contest, cash bar, free food and over 2 hours of music performed by THE RENEGADES OF SLUTS. People from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Los Angeles, Ohio, New York City, New Jersey, Alabama, Florida, New Jersey, Delaware and even as far away as Holland were hanging out all night, having a great time. The Platinum Southern Bellz know how to throw one hell of a party! Thanks Allison & Darlene!!!! Thanks to all the fans who came out to watch us jam, bought merchandise and even helped break down and load equipment after our sets. On Sunday the 8th, the Expo took place. At around 5 pm, THE RENEGADES OF SLUTS hit the stage and blasted out a hot set of tunes to the crowd. Ron Keel, lead singer from Keel, Alcatrazz and few other bands joined R.O.S. onstage for a couple tunes, much to the crowds delight. The fellas would like to thank Ron for hopping up with us, pics will be posted soon. Thanks also from the band (especially from Dick Tattoo) to our bud Gordon G.G. Gebert for all the props he gave us during his Q & A session earlier in the day. Pick up a copy of his books "Kiss & Tell", "Kiss & Tell More" and "Rock & Roll War Stories". Thanks also to Phil Elliott, Bob Kulick, Julie Robbins, Dio, Andy, Big Brother Mark and all the usual suspects - you know who you are! Die Music Group had one of the most popular booths at the event. All day long Dick Tater, Dick Dog, Dick Nux and Dick Tattoo talked to fans, posed for pictures and signed everything from t-shirts to CDs to programs to flyers to photos taken at last years event. This in spite of the fact that at around 10 am, half a dozen Federal Marshalls, accompanied by the personal attorney of Gene Simmons himself, locked the Hilton down and began to search vendor booths, hotel rooms and vehicles on the property for bootleg video and recordings. Literally thousands of VHS and DVDs along with hundreds of cassette tapes were confiscated and court papers were served to several vendors in attendance. THE RENEGADES OF SLUTS would like to thank all the people who were not intimidated and who stuck around all day well into the evening to show support for the promoter, the vendors and celebrities who were on hand for the event and to watch our set on the Expo Main Stage. Note to Gene Simmons: It is really FUCKED UP when you fuck with people who are coming together to celebrate YOUR FUCKING BAND. Fuck the fans, Gene. That's really smart.
August 5th - THE RENEGADES OF SLUTS have just been informed that we will be the only band performing at the pre-party for the KISS Expo hosted by the Platinum Southern Bellz this weekend. Originally, we were to share the stage with another band, however as of today, they will not be playing. This leaves the door wide open for us to get wide open!!! The party starts at 8 pm, with R.O.S. hitting the stage at 9 pm. We will be playing two sets of party music with selections from our debut release, our upcoming release and crowd favorites by everyone from A(erosmith) to Z(Z Top). Come on out and get crazy with the Platinum Southern Bellz, R.O.S. and all the KISS fans in Charlotte!
July 28th - Recording sessions for the new full length R.O.S. album are complete! This release will include the following tracks, in no particular order: Screen Door Blues, Trick Of The Trade, Poor White Trash, Marilyn, Incurable Disease, Carolina Fine, Homeless In L.A. and a cover of the Neil Young tune Rockin' In The Free World. The first single will be "Carolina Fine", which also happens to be the new theme song for XXX starlet Julie Robbins. The band will debut the single Friday night August 6th at Twin Peeks go-go bar in Charlotte, NC. The following two nights, R.O.S. will be performing tunes from their new and debut albums, along with additional fan favorites at the 3rd annual KISS Expo to be held at the Charlotte University Place Hilton. July 24th- Thanks to all the Sluts and Whoremongers for coming out to support THE RENEGADES OF SLUTS in our first P-Town show since we were asked to leave Boomerangs way back last year. It was a kick ass night for Rock & Roll, with 3 one hour sets. Special thanks to the Sound God James Faw for hooking us up and running sound all night (and saving the show after we blew out the power twice). Thanks also to the entire staff of Rosys III, along with Dick Bag, Dick Butt, Dick Docta, Dick Butter, Dick Sugar, Dick Virginia, Beth, Fast Chris, Zakk, Don, Hootchie Coo, Grinny Smiler, Big Bill, Angel and Dave, TJ the DJ, Jeff from Section 8, and the mystery couple who took advantage of our "$100 bill donation rule" in order to hear "Balls To The Wall". Long story short, we got our cash and they got their song. Fuck with that, motherfuckers!
July 23rd - Dick Dog will be in Nashville, TN July 26th through the 27th to record drum tracks for a tune to be used in an upcoming movie released by Universal Pictures. He will join long time friend Sam Simpson along with Kenny Olsen (from the Kid Rock Twisted Brown Trucker Band) in the studio. The Dog will be flown out first class with all expenses paid in exchange for his drumming skills. More details to be posted as soon as they become available.
July 20th - This just in! THE RENEGADES OF SLUTS will be performing at Rosys III in P-Town this Friday. This club has new owners and management and they asked us to perform. Short notice, but R.O.S. is gonna step up to the plate and kick out the jams in that fucker. We will be playing 3 sets, starting at 9:30 pm. Check the "Meat Market" section on this site for the club address and phone number.
