New Zealand�s largest international canoe polo competition by Shelley O'Dwyer, MCPA Publicity Officer 23 January 2005 New Zealand will be hosting the 2005 Oceania Championships at the QEII Aquatic Park in Christchurch 29 September � 1 October. This is the first time New Zealand has hosted the Championships and it will be the largest international canoe polo competition ever held in this country. Teams from throughout Asia and Australia will be invited to attend what will be a spectacular New Zealand canoe polo event. Established in 2003, the Oceania Championships is held bi annually with the inaugural competition taking place in Brisbane. The Championships will be held in conjunction with New Zealand�s Inter Regional Championships which will run 24 - 26 September. A training camp for all NZ representative teams is scheduled for 27-28 September and then the Oceania Championships will roll into action 29 September - 1 October. With the event being held at the QEII Aquatic Park in Christchurch, Mainland Canoe Polo will be able to showcase the city�s stunning canoe polo venues and fab hospitality.
