Oceania and Inter-Regionals 2005 by Shelley O'Dwyer, MCPA Publicity Officer 3 November 2004 The previously publicised dates for the 2005 Oceania and Inter-Regional Championship dates have been changed to 24 September - 1 October. The venue remains QEII Aquatic Park in Christchurch. It will be the first time in recent history that New Zealand has hosted the Oceania championships following the very successful revival last year in Brisbane , Australia. In Brisbane, New Zealand was well represented and won the under-21 Mens and Womens titles and placed second in the Senior Womens and Veteran Mens competitions. The Senior Men were placed fourth. As for Inter-Regionals, this regional-representative competition rotates through the three strongest canoe polo regions in New Zealand although with the reemergence of Southern teams at competitions it may soon be held in all four regions. Mainland last held Inter-Regionals in 2002. |
