Mad Mark ran the open-wheeled Modified car and the 1974 Camero successfully at Wall Stadium, Flemington Speedway in New Jersey and Evergreen Speedway in Pennsylvania. He built his own cars from the ground up, including the motors. He could get more power for less money than his competitors spent. |

Dr. Bob's favorite car, a 1972 Datsun 510, is still in the stable. We are hoping to have it back on the road/track by next spring. The suspension has BSR competition springs, 1 1/2'" lower than stock, 1" front and 3/4" rear sway bars with Koni adjustable shocks front and rear. The motor is a 1.6 liter Datsun with flat-top 240Z pistons, ported/polished head, a Weber 2-bbl downdraft carb, tube headers, and a cam set up for road racing. The stock 4-speed is connected to the motor by a heavy-duty Datsun 2000 clutch and pressure plate. |

His other race car was a 1966 MGBeast. The stock MG block was modified with factory racing pistons and cam, but the beauty part of the beast was a V.W. Darrington aluminium cross-flow head, ported and polished with 2 Weber 2-bbl side draft carbs.The car was capable of at least 145 mph, and was a brutal machine to drive. For increased cornering power, it had a full Detroit Locker rear end. |
