Nature:
The HEART of Humanity
It is with great wonder and awe that we behold the simple truth and honest beauty within the vast and diverse phenomenal realm we call Nature.
We are on the threshhold of a Great Awakening to a new level of relationship with the Earth.
The Earth is a living being, supporting and sustaining us.
Nature's liveliness and vitality surrounds our reality like a great and magnificent amphitheater.
Nature has always gently coaxed humanity into deeper relationship.  The beauty of a flower, the sunset, or a sunny beach has a peculiar effect upon our hearts.  These naturally occuring works of art grab our fragmented attention and bring us into the present moment, in grace with our soul.
Many artists, poets, musicians, and writers who spend time in Nature have been inspired to bring forth glorious artistic, literary, and musical works of inspiration to humanity.
Yet, many others have found great moments of epiphany while in Nature's loving embrace.
These wonderful experiences are open and available to everyone.
The key ingredient is YOU.  All you have to do is greet Nature with the eyes and wonderment of a child.  Take another look, as if you have never, ever seen your natural surroundings.  Everything will look fresh and shiny new.
You have just used your personal KEY to enter into a new level of relationship with Nature, the Garden of Eden and the Earth.
Nature will bask in your adorning attention.  You have just opened a doorway of interactive response.
It has been common knowledge for some time that plants respond and flourish when humans give them loving attention by talking or singing to them.
Why then wouldn't a tree, wildflowers, rocks, a stream, or garden vegetables be just as responsive to similar human attention?
Native American teachings as well as many other indiginous peoples have always considered the Earth as sacred.  The peoples of these cultures that have lived close to Nature teach spirit is in all things.  Over seeing spirits of the land, the sky, the trees, the animals, etc are recognized and honored in ceremony, dance and song.
All these "parts of Nature" are alive.  They do respond to our thoughts and acts of kindness.
I like how John Denver's lyrics beautifully express his love for the Rocky Mountains and communion with Nature: "You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply..."
Now you can just run right outside and hug a tree!  Talk to your garden!  Touch a lovely flower and tell it how beautiful it is!  Sing to the woods!  Howl at the sunset!  Dance on the beach!  Be like a child and spontaniously respond to the life force of Nature.
Nature in turn will respond!  That's right, I said it is interactive.  It is important at this point to be quiet and receptive.
You may feel a "shift" in your perspective.  The area may brighten up, something may appear to shimmer out of the corner of your eye, the sun's rays may break through the trees, a bird may begin to sing for you, or possibly a breeze may puff at you.  The important thing here is to be open to subtle response.

Do you have an experience with Nature responding?
I would like to hear about it.
