Due to lack of facilities at this time we are not in the position to take in akitas as they come to us. Occasionally we can take one dog in an emergency. (After that dog's temperment has been evaluated of course.) Most pure breed rescue groups can take dogs only if they have foster homes. I am one person doing the job of many. If you would like to be a foster home for us please let me know. In the meantime, if you need to place your akita quickly, contact your area animal shelter. Let me know where the akita has been taken and send me a contact number. I will work with them from there. If you have an akita that has bitten a person liability issues prevent us from placing that dog. It ALSO means you can be liable if that dog bites another person even if you warn the new family that takes the dog in should you decide to place it. If you think the incident was understandable-i.e. child poked pencil into dogs eardrum -contact me for specific advise.
