You may not have seen a match involving or heard the name of Volk Han, shame on you! Volk Han is a former Russian National Sambo Champion and Sambo trainer for the Russian Military. In 1992 he began working for RINGS, the promotion headed by Akira Maeda. RINGS matches are mainly worked shoots combining stiff strikes with unmatched matwork and submissions. Volk Han was perhaps the greatest worker to ever grace a RINGS ring and had fantastic matches with the best RINGS had to offer, and he had the uncanny ability to bring great matches out of otherwise bland fighters.
