Freedale

DR 1665:

     The hamlet of Freedale is attacked by a band of goblins. The attack is held off by a ranger and barbarian,shortly they recive help from a wizards caravan.
The small band of goblins is soon slayed with the help from the wizard,his apprentice and a dwarven smith.
There are reports that the goblins hold a lair in the forest towards Never Winter this is quickly investigated.

     The party investigates the lair and are met with goblin forces,the party also discovers a clan of orc and bugbear have allied with the goblins to sack the villages nearby.
While searching the caverns they come across a goblin from a diffrent clan chained to the wall,his companion was ina shallow grave nearby.With he;p from the goblin who called himself Steck,the goblins band along with their king were eliminated.
Some of the other creatures fled the lair but their overall plan was ruined.


NeverWinter

     On the road towards Never Winter, Steck is seperated from camp and is enslaved by an Ogre in the forest South of Neverwinter. After a few days of slavery Steck manages to escape the Ogre and slay him using a number of traps.Meanwhile the caravan is attacked by the remenants of the Orc raiding party
they were soon dispatched.With no hope of finding Steck the caravan makes way North,soon they were reunited with Steck.
     Around this time after being begged by his aprentice Akar decrees noone shall harm steck in anyway,and he should be treated like a member of the caravan.
     Due to certain members of the caravan everyone could not stay in side the city for rest,the caravan was converted to a small fort where everyone stayed.
Here Akar found critical information on a magic item (the wizards corwn).
Steck also had snuck into Neverwinter and was met with an Image of the God Helm,the abberation contracted Steck to walk off the evil path of his bretheren or suffer conciquences, Steck must also make a pilgramage back to Neverwinter in one year.
not wanting to be hurt or killed Steck agreed.
Akars discovery also put the caravan on the road North towards Luskan.


Luskan

     The caravan finally made a stop at Luskan, due to its chaotic nature and Steck disguising himself as a small, "ugly" child he made his way into Luskan with the party.
     While staying in the inn the group was attacked by crawling claws which were animated severed hands. Even though they were severely injured the group defeated the creatures,seconds after they were met with an assasin and a mage who controlled the claws. The two villains were finally killed after a grueling battle inside the inn. In one of the mages pockets a letter was found with intstructions on killing the group,it was sealed with Akars wizard seal.
     Akar fled from the Inn and made his way to the caravan,the group chased Akar onto one of the bridges but were met with powerful fire magic which blasted them into the river below.Akar had made his escape to the caravan and made his way far North.
     After investigating Akars left over belongings and questioning local mages the party learned Akar was looking for something North in the Spine of the World,so the group mustered their strength,bought winter gear and horses and made the ride North in pursuit.


Spine of the World

After traveling for a few days in the harsh weather of the North the group made it North of the Spine of the World. They questioned many travelers going to and leaving Ten-Towns,the soon learned of a wizard hiking the Spine of the World. The group had a basic idea of where Akar may be and traveled up the Spine of the World, they soon caught up with him on a flat peak and climbed up after him. Akar met them atop the flat,icy plateu as Holeb and Katlyn kept guard below. It seemed Akar had found what he was looking for,the wizards crown was atop his head. Akar used powerful fire spells nearly destroying the entire party,though the crown increased his magical power, Akar was still unwise in his actions, his fire based spells had melted the icy platform underneath him causing a snowslide into the mountain. As Akar was ready to fall to his doom Steck quicky plucked the crown from Akar's head. Akar fell into the mountain with snow and ice following him then the heroe's. The large pile of snow broke the group's fall but buried Akar in an icy grave.
