I'm 24 yrs old and originally from La Habana, Cuba. I was born in a little town name Guines which is located about 15 kilometers from my home town, Melena Del Sur. I lived there until the age of 16 yrs old, and then I immigrated to United States ("La Yuma") along with my father and his wife.
Coming here was a little bit painful since I wasn't able to speak the language and not knowing the customs of this country that took me as one of their own. I attended to Memorial High School in West New York, N.J. where I met some friends in which today I still have contact with. I graduated in 1998 and by then my abilities of speaking english was pretty good in understanding and expressing feelings and being able to talk to others with no problem.
After my graduation I joined the US Navy in August 20, 1998 and that was a very important step in my life. Through this I proof myself of being able to do things and go places that I would have never thought it could be possible. When I first started in the armed forces as most of everyone else that comes into it, I came in as the lowest rank, but through the years I have advance to a higher level becoming a Petty Officer 3rd Class with great resposabilities. I have traveled to many places such as: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Kuwaiit, Jordan, Saipan-Mariana's Island, Hong Kong, Darwin-Australia, Bali-Indonesia, Guam, Singapore, Cabo San Lucas-Mexico and Hawaii. |
