To date, Bruce has released five studio albums, 2 live albums and a Best Of. The new album Tyranny of Souls is due out 23rd May 2005.
There has also been two live videos: Dive! Dive! Live! and Skunkworks Live. As well as this, a DVD is to be released this year, probably in the summer. |

Bruce's albums are very different to Maiden's own material. Tattooeed Millionaire is more of a jokey album, and as such is really only better than the worst Maiden albums. Balls to Picasso is very good indeed, and is certainly better than at least five of Maiden's albums, if not more. From Skunkworks though, the quality shoots through the roof. Skunkworks and Accident of Birth are easily on par with all but the very best of Maiden's material, while The Chemical Wedding is simpy the best piece of music ever created.
But really it's unfair to compare Bruce's solo material to Maiden. It's very different. It does share some of the same characteristics; a lot of the riffs and meldodies are very catchy and of course there are similarities when both Bruce and Adrian are present. But that's not the point. By and large, it's a lot heavier than Maiden, a lot more experimental and a lot more daring. But anyway. Maiden are still the greatest band on the planet... they just didn't make the greatest record on the planet, is all.
