He named it after his wife Almu. Fionn mac Cumhail later made it his home. Sometimes spelled "Aillinne". Aonghus Og--(ahng-is ohg): The son of the Dagda and Boann, whose home is Bru na Boinne (Newgrange). Angus is the youthful Irish god of love and beauty, forster father to Dairmuid O'Duibne. His name is also spelled "Angus". Aobh--(aev): Mother of the Children of Lir. Aoife--(ee-fe): (1) Warrior princess defeated by Cuchulainn; (2) the step-mother/aunt of the Children of Lir; and (3) the lover of Ibrec, son of Manannan, who was changed into a crane. Her skin was used to make the original Crane Bag. |
