    POLITICIAN


    Siteke Gibson Mwale, a Zambian diplomat and lawyer, was born on October 22 in 1929 in Nyimba and married Mbangose Shawa in 1948 and has four sons and two daughters. He was educated at Munali Secondary School, University of London, University of Manchester, Temple University and University of California.

    He served in several posts before being named Ambassador to Ivory Coast, Liberia, Guinea, Senegal and Mauritania 1970-74. He also served as High Commissioner to Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone during the same period. He was appointed Ambassador to USA 1974-76.

    He became Minister of Foreign Affairs 1976-78; Special Assistant to the President 1979. He went on to serve on various technical and international committees.
