Eyes to See

Once upon a time there was a tiny village near many bigger cities, so it had anything you'd find in a big city. The only thing that made it a village was the number of inhabitants.

One holiday morning it rained and all of the townspeople had to stay home instead of celebrating on the streets.

The rain got worse and worse, with thunder and lightning. One of these struck a light pole and knocked out the power of the surrounding blocks. Since it was morning nobody cared that much: they weren't planing on watching TV anyway.

As soon as the sky cleared, people left their homes to party out on the street or at the house of a friend outside the electricityless area. The day continued normally, as if nothing hapenned.

When the night came everyone went home carefully because of the darkness, always minding the ground. They went to sleep certain that the problem would be taken care of by morning.

No one even looked up. Just this one little girl was amazed by the amount of stars in the sky and thanked God for the opportunity of seeing them.
