| Broken (by Jessie Ethier)
When things fall apart,
And you have to patch them back together,
Are they ever the same again?
When clothes are torn,
You mend them.
But they never look exactly the same.
When your world falls apart
Faster than you can mend it
You pick up the pieces of hope and the shreds of happiness;
Then rebuild it the best you can.
But there are still memories,
There are still reminders of the things you did.
And they never go away.
If your heart breaks
It takes so long to mend.
And even then
There is always a bit missing.
The first piece that fell
Is never found again
And that hole, that missing stitch,
Is forever gone.
There are scars, marks that remain for a long time.
Sometimes, these marks eventually disappear
But the missing stitch,
The bit that makes you whole,
Is never replaced.
And then youre afraid to love again
For fear it will happen once more.
Because when too many stitches are missing
What holds your heart together?
