In the rear cargo area by the window, I have installed a 12v plug. I have noticed a lot of manufacturers now have these in their SUV's so I thought I would do the same. This is just one of two; the other is by the compartment in the rear.
This is the Cobra 19DXII CB. It is the perfect width for relocation into the ashtray position. However, it was about 3" too long! I had to cut the plastic behind the trim. I didn't want to do it, but had no choice. I have seen others on the web who mounted their CB's in weird locations that deterred from the "factory look". Everytime I install something, I want it to look as if it could have come from the factory with it. It keeps the vehicle looking good, and is easier for prying eyes to know they can steal it.
Here is my Solarcon CB antenna installed in the rear tire carrier hinge. It is a unique location, and keeps it close to the body and low for trail riding.
