When will the Help of Allah come
As-salaamu alaikum: I agree with both of you. And as for your comments below, I believe it must start from the masjid. Even in our small community here in the mountains, shaitaan had taken advantage of some individuals. With personal problems of some nature known to Allah, several of them stopped coming to the masjid even though they could walk to it easily from their homes! (And, they could HEAR the adhan from their homes!!!) These were American convert Muslims of many years with no liquor stores and from whom no one would have expected such a horrible condition. After 9/11, the prayer is up to very nearly 100% wa lillahi al-hamd. I wish we could learn to fear Allah and obey him BEFORE the calamities, but this appears to be Allah's sunnah with us. Wa laa haula wa laa quwwata illaa billahi.
After coming to the masjid, then what is needed is KNOWLEDGE. This means the ability to sit in circles as the Companions used to do, calling one another to sit saying ta'ala nu'min sa'a (come, let us believe for an hour). This will require ridding ourselves of kibr (pride), arrogance, envy and desire to be "over" others. It will require learning to acknowledge one with more knowledge than ourselves even if just a little and putting them forward in the majlis as Allah commanded in the Qur'an. It means accepting knowledge which is well-founded even if coming from someone with less knowledge than ourselves.
Most native-born Muslims have a good set of these skills and will find these things easy. Most "foreign" Muslims (i.e., Americans and others who CONVERTED to Islam as adults or who although born to Muslim (convert)parents are still quite "foreign" to Islam in their culture and manners) score nearly ZERO in these areas. This is where we should focus. BE IN THE MASJID. BE IN CIRCLES OFKNOWLEDGE. Learn, learn and learn some more. (The average American convert Muslim burns out after 3 - 5 years and his/her once fervent seeking of knowledge goes into nearly complete death.) Take everything based on its support from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Do not be partisan to ANYONE, even those who claim to be the only ones standing against "partisanship" - you really have to stand in awe of the handiwork of Iblis on that one! Don't follow people, groups or scholars. Follow what is BEHIND them which is what they support their statements with from the original sources. We must lose the arrogance. We must lose the envy. We must stop trying to be raisins when we have not even ripened as grapes. We must learn to take full advantage of the knowledge which exists among us, protect ourselves from the incorrect among it and seek more and more from wherever it can be had. May Allah accept all of our standing and our fasting and Ramadhan kareem to all. Salim Morgan taken from chicago-net
Kenangan dahulu...
