Remember
when nearly every boy collected footy stickers. 60 cents for a pack (great
value). Filling up the book was the ultimate aim and when you got two of
the same sticker you called it a swap. Logo stickers had to be swapped for
another logo or 2 player stickers and there was the All Australian
stickers the were half the size of a normal sticker. How satisfying it was
to fill the book.

During
those Primary school years an excursion on a bus could turn from pleasant
to just down right uncomfortable! After settling into a seat next to your
best mate you quietly observe everyone one else filing onto the bus until
finally there are no more seats available, as soon as the teacher realised
this they would yell at the top of there voice "ALRIGHT THREE TO A
SEAT" that's when that nice bus trip turned bad.

Those annoying bus trips where you sat 3 to a seat would more likely turn
even uglier than first thought. Remember arriving at John Palmers Gym? Not
pretty! After getting off the bus the mad rush to get a seat on the top
row of the stand was on. You rushed into the change area and quickly
removed socks and shoes then put them where ever, lord help you if you got
your laces stuck in a knot. Everyone was ready at the stand for big
Johnnie to make his appearance. Various activities took place on the top
floor, I remember Johnnie very clearly saying "Alright, boys and
girls, in a clock wise direction we are Skipping, he then proceeded to
turn on his music, "HOORAY, HOORAY ITS A HOLLY HOLIDAY" would
blast out from the speakers. John would then notice somebody going the
wrong way, HEY he yelled quickly and sharply. Everyone froze not knowing
if it was them or not. If you were doing something wrong John would spot
you through his massive mirrors.
You can’t tell me you don't remember some of that.

Remember When at the end of each piece of schoolwork you did you had to
rule off. For those who don't Ruling off was the act of place a ruled line
at the end of a particular piece of work in red pen.
Moment

Remember When you had to use pencil for all your schoolwork. It was a more
effective way of reducing messy work. Eventually you could use a pen
around grade 4. However your pen just didn’t get handed to you on a gold
platter you had to earn it. Your Handwriting had to be at a suitable
standard before the blue pen was issued. Most people got it straight away
but others struggled (like Walsh) but that struggle was good, because with
a lot of hard work your goal was to get that elusive blue pen.
Do
you Remember Your first blue pen?

Do
you remember the last time both Steven Curtain and Myself played 90
minutes of soccer at the same time. I quite honestly don’t, it would at
least be a year.

Remember those counting blocks that were around in Primary School.
There were made of wood and each block separately was 1cm x 1cm. They were
used as a teachers aid for teaching math's. They came in 1's, 10's, 100's,
1000's. The 1's were just a 1x1 cube the 10's were 1x1 stacked 10 high.
The 100's where 10's along side each other that

you have any moments like these if so send them into [email protected]
Moment No. 7
Remember when we used to make a big
deal about playing kiss chasey. Well I know a few people now who would love
to have some girl running after them trying to kiss them. Not naming
anyone. Mainly Walsh.
Moment No. 8
Remember Mechano, well for those who
don't Mechano was sort of like Lego, difference was the pieces were made
out of metal and were joined together with nuts and bolts. A lot of people
probably don't remember it because it came at a hefty price, only rich
people who don't have carpet could have afforded it. (if you know who I
mean)
Moment No. 9
Remember When Marbles were the big
craze in Primary school.
Moment No. 10
Remember when Friday nights were
about sitting down and tuning into Bruce Mc Avaney sing his praises for
Carey, and when Saturdays meant tuning into 3AW to Rex Hunt singing his
praises about Ablett, then when Sunday came going over to Subiaco and
watching Denis Cometti sing his praises of Sumich.
Moment 11
Remember when Jason Maher scored two
goals at Epsom in one season for the clubs reserve side?
It was only last season.
Moment 12
Remember
when at Kindergarten your parents had to do fruit duty.
Moment 13
Remember
when end of term school duties used to include, cleaning out the sports
shed, the whole school picking up papers and cleaning off the blackboard
with a wet rag.
