Remember
the Shag
Wednesday 21st Ausgust
2002
For those of you who did wood work at Junortoun, you
may have been lucky enough to have seen a large bird sitting on a drum in
the dam out the back of the classroom.
The first sighting of the bird was made into quite a fuss by Lachlan
Fraser and Pat McQualter who claimed it was a penguin. Mr Hayden (wood
work teacher) later corrected them.
The bird was a remarkable able to dive under water for periods of up to 2
minutes then surface with a fish. The exact record time it spent under
water isn't on paper but was in excess of 2 minutes.
For more information on the Shag talk to Bob Hayden at Junortoun.
