Learning Planet
Learning Planet is a smart site that is useful for elementary school teachers. Being a member of this site is a good idea if you want to explore deeper into its treasures. In the kids corner, students can select there grade level and then go exploring in any subject. I choose to play a game in the math area, called SpaceyMath. This was a fun game for students to brush up on there addition or subtraction, while shooting alien ships. Great site for members, and offers many things for teachers and students.
WebMonkey for Kids
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/kids/
This I found kind of interesting. Here is a site to use maybe in the classroom, to teach kids all about creating there own webpage. The site offers everything from lessons, projects, playground, and tools. The lessons teach kids about the internet and web, web design, and using templates, also HTML! Really is a great site for students to learn about web design, could even teach me a thing or two! There is also a fun area for the kids to just do non-educational stuff. The tools section was excellent; here students could get help with writing code, creating pictures and putting their site online. A+ site, recommend it to everyone!

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

I am always interested in zoological parks around the world and especially those here in the U.S.A. Zoological Parks can offer exceptionally websites for information on there zoos, but also are very informative and functional for classroom education and research, and great ideas for activities. I particularly enjoyed the Conservations & Science area were you can visit everything from zoological medicine to endangered species science. This is an exceptional site and I recommend it to anyone in the science classroom or like myself the zoo classroom!
American Zoo and Aquarium Association
Here is yet another excellent site for science and zoo educators. With information on all zoos and aquariums though out the United States. They have even created a site just for kids, entitled AZA’s web for kids. A great an interesting place for kids to learn about the environment and animals place in the world; kids can take a pledge for the planet or find out what other kids from around the U.S are doing to help out animals and the environment. There is also a fun and games section. Another really great animal site that provides accurate up to date information for students and teachers.

Wonders of Space
http://www.fi.edu/fellows/fellows9/dec98/intro.htm
I found this site to be very interesting, and aesthetically pleasing. At this site you can be linked to six different topic areas: Cruising space, Ask an Expert, Star Gazers, Astronaut in training, Classroom connect, and Teacher trek resources. I really enjoyed Star Gazers, were you can learn what the stars were like when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
PBS Kids
This is one of my favorite sites, it’s full of very useful interesting information a student or teacher could need games, stories, music, and coloring. Many of the educational shows that air on PBS kids are presented in links so you or your student can explore shows like Reading Rainbow, Sesame Street, and my favorite, Zoboomafoo. This site would be great for in the class and at home to correlate with some of the students shows.
The Internet Public Library
This is a very functional site. It’s really like a library with many different areas of resources, such as, reading rooms, references like almanacs, calendars, and dictionaries. For kids there is a page called KidSpace, here they have every thing informative from computers and internet, health and nutrition, reading zone, math and science, art and music, sports and stuff for teachers and parents. A+ Check it out!
