-----==========-----

Implemented:

+ Lightning2

Tweaks:

* 07.31.2000 compatable
* The pillar during Luminaire was too high off the ground. That's fixed.

* Random hit box resizing for various moves.
* Some other stuff I've forgotten about by now. :P

Release 6 - 9/02/00
-----==========-----

* 06.27.2000 compatable
* Luminaire is more accurate when detecting your health, and the files have been shrunk due to the fabulous new support of expressions. :D
* Luminaire is now vunerable during the first second before the energy starts flowing around him. I love the new StopSnd control type. ;)
* Some other stuff I forgot about by now. :P

* Confuse has been adjusted to be more corner-friendly and centers the opponent.
* Complete re-rip of EVERYTHING.
* Complete re-write of everything in the CNS, AIR, and CMD files.
* Tweaked ALL attacks to hurt less. Possibly the biggest damage adjustments so far.
* Taunt lasts longer and recovers more MP. Think of it as using an ether. :P
* Timing adjustment for Lightning. There's charge time and recovery time now.
* Slash looks, sounds and works like the original slash. It moves through the opponent.
* Slash has a new function: It can hit multiple times when up close.
* Addition of many original Chrono Trigger sounds.

- Original Dual Tech: Cyclone Slash has been temporarily disabled.

Release 4 - 6/23/00
-----==========-----

* Confuse tweaked
* Luminaire can be done anytime. (Level 3)

 Installation
====------====

1) Unzip file into folder Chars/Crono.

2) In the Data folder, open select.cfg as a text document. Under the
   Characters section on the top, put the line:

 Crono, stages/icecap.def

   You don't have to put stages/icecap.def if you want. That extension
   is merely to assign a background to someone. You can either replace
   the icecap.def with something else or delete that so that he doesn't
   have a specific backround.

3) If you already have a character in a folder named Crono, you can
   unzip him into another folder. When you insert him into select.cfg,
   type in:

 ****/Crono, stages/icecap.def

 **** = whatever folder you extracted him into

 Character Description: Who is Crono?
====------------------------------====

   Crono is the main character of ONE of the greatest RPGs of all time, Chrono Trigger. This section isn't for descriping him in that game, however, or to give him some fake, alternate fansub-like story. This is to describe his stats and fighting ability.

   Because of his size compared to other people, he can't take hits as well. It makes sense considering that Kyo's foot is about as big as him. His attack power is very low. Then why play him, you might ask. His strength lies in his weaknesses.

   Much like Roll and Happosai, he won't get hit by most standing attacks. He has a fast running speed and double jump which makes him very mobile. On top of all that, his attacks are fast in both reaction and recovery.

   Even though he takes a small area of space in his jump, he lacks reach while in the air. To counteract this, he has a multi-hitting downward thrust. It doesn't take much off, but can used to stop even multiple enemies for a little while. That gives you a chance to run away or attempt a combo.

   His special moves have great range and reaction, but cost MP. MP in this game is better known as a power bar. Most characters gain 'MP' when using special moves, but that can't apply to Crono. His origins were in an MP world, so we must abide by these rules to keep him authentic. To counteract his lack of MP gain, I've added a MP recovery system. Using basic attacks won't increase his mp recovery speed. His taunt works kinda like an ether in which it has the ability to slowly increase his MP recovery speed.

   After playing him for the first time, you may be asking, "How come his Lightning spell takes off so much magic, but damages so little?" Well, I made him that way because of how useful the move is. It can be combo'd into another lightning attack. With such a fast attack with a varied range, it questions your opponents strategy of fighting against him. Crono is meant for mind games. In order to keep the mind games fair, I had to lower his strength.

   The Slash attack is also very different. If your opponent is close, you should do a LP Slash. It comes out fast, but moves slow. Plus the LP version is very strong. The slashes are stronger the slower they move, but the slowest one doesn't even go half-screen. The fastest one does no chipping damage and hurts for less than a jab, but moves across at a really high speed. Its MP cost is very small compared to his other moves, so it makes an ideal chioce when you're low on MP to keep the enemy away.

    New to his arsenal, yet not, is Spincut. This move has two uses. If your opponent is planning on jumping or crouching, you can attack him for 1/9th of his life. If you don't think the opponent will wait, then use Cyclone; another new, yet not, move of his. It comes out faster, has better distance, and does chipping damage. Using this move will cost more MP overall, however. You must use your own judgement.

     Now for the ultimate in killin' technology, Luminaire. Once started, it can't be stopped(except by time, which is a bit strange). It's unblockable, only cancelable durinf the first second, and very powerful. Sounds too good to be true? It almost is. You must have all of your MP stocked. You can only do this move once per round as it doesn't kill an opponent......always. The movement itself is a bit hard to pull off, but worth all the effort. Damage is varied depending on your health. Less HP = More damage

     Not much else to say about Crono's latest move, Confuse. It's one of his most useful moves. It cannot be guarded from a crouching position and flies full screen. His LP version is made just for miniature characters like himself or Happosai.

     Crono had a hidden move for those of you willing to take the time to read this far. It's original, but not very visually impressive at all. It proves useful against people that are a little farther than sweeping distance. It's been in long enough to be public knowledge by now.

 People who deserve praise
=====-----------------=====

Shadow Watcher
---------------
You can't handle my Gundam Wing - Endless Duel skills, sonny boy!! Thanks for being such a friendly person, even from the start. He's helped me find ways to do some moves when I get 'creator's block.' Continue to work on Kyo until he's just right.

Redmob and Saisyu
------------------
They are the only two personal friends I know that have a computer and use MUGEN. You guys are always there when I need you. Thanks for all your help, consideration, trust, friendship, criticism, and anything else I didn't mention.....except for Redmob... _ (Now everyone will suspect the dog.) :P

V.K.
-----
For liking Rival Schools and for putting up with the public's crap. You have no rival when it comes to creating characters, or backgrounds. He's sexy as hell, too. :)

Yohko
------
Well, without you, where would Shadow be? Keep him on his toes and keep your cheery persona. Thanks for the abstract, although extremely helpful opinions that influence some of my move choices. (Time Stop? Who, and their momma, and their baby momma, and their momma's momma don't have THAT move yet. :P)

Deuce
------
I'll get you to hate FF8 someday. Heheheheee. Thanks for many various things and for being an ever so intriguing person to talk to. Now that you're back; FF8 hating....Round 2...FIGHT!! ;)

Tenshin
--------
Beta-tester......that is all. He rips from PSX....that makes him L33T!!!

MHz
----
Your program, snd2wav, helped me considerably to get Crono's sounds back after losing the originals. Thanks for the program. ;)

Elecbyte
---------
Without them, there'd be no M.U.G.E.N. Keep the beautiful, new stuff coming.

If you decide to d/l this, and read this, please add more triggers for p3/p4(Mostly everything you can do with p1 triggers), mp3 changes in a character's cns(triggers to match), ways to trigger animations in a stage's def file (to check for round 2, or triggered from a character when needed), and a type of save game kinda thing, where MUGEN will record certain special variable values that can be looked at after MUGEN is closed and reopened(For different modes, like for GBKyo's Expert Mode, so you won't have to start from scratch everytime, etc.)

U.N.I.T.E.D.
-------------
They showed us the true potential that M.U.G.E.N. had.

Jeff Reed - a.k.a. Skuld-Chan - a.k.a. Legato
----------------------------------------------
I used your idea for the downward thrust. If you have any objections, I'll take it out. I'm looking forward to further RPG characters from you in the future. Good luck. :)
