~Traffic~
 by The Magus

Cars pass in the street...making the road impassable.
The sound of engines fills the air...
Though I'm standing on a crowded street corner...I'm the only one there.

The air's hard to breath...filled with stress and smoke.
People filing across to live their lives away...
And I'm marching in their ranks to earn another dollar for my day.

But the rush in my brain...
Blows like a hurricane...
Just the thought of you carries me away on a wind of freedom!

It's so warm, this other world we're missing.
I fall back in, whenever you're with me.
Like a glimpse of a green mirage, or the pool of a mirrors surface...
I want to drown in this feeling...I don't want to surface...

There's another world away from it all, beautiful as poetry,
that is only ours.

Why all the silly rules...the superficial means nothing.
A world not terribly complex...I dream of that place.
And no matter how blurry my dream I always see your face.

I like to break those rules...they are just paper walls.
Some walls have to  be bared, like the traffic in the road.
Responsibilities we have, certainly don't lighten the load...

But the colors streak by...
Within the endless sky...
The smile you bring me makes everything else fade away!

So I stand, on the corner, wishing it was forest!
I understand...the distance between us!
A universe apart between seperate stars, but it's meant for just us two!
I wish I was alone, in our green world, with only you.
