~Sweet Siren~
 by The Magus

Gold...light...shining...
The sunset...reflecting...off waves...
The waves...crash...against the rocks...
The sound...echoing...from shore caves...

I hear a song of bliss, floating through the sky, and the sea.
The wind steals it, bringing it to my ears...
The alluring song, urging me on, to find out who would sing for me.
This song I have not heard in years...

I stand...upon...the rocks...
The sea...splashing...on my boots...

I heard the song when I was young, in the back of my dreams.
Now I hear it coming from the blue...
I see her there in the distance, standing in the last sun beams.
A prophetic vision come true...

She stands upon rocks...
Singing to the waters...
Drops of water on her ivory skin, holding the sunset as its going.
Her soulful brown eyes...
Entrancing and enchanting...
She beckons to me from beyond the sea, her wet brown hair flowing.

And dare I reach her?
Climb up those rocks...
Or wash up wrecked and broken to pieces on the shore?
She mesmerizes me...
Standing there so lonely...
Not a siren luring me to destruction, but offering happiness forever more.

No, she's a sweet siren!!!

I've heard of sirens, their hypnotic smiles, living only to lure a sailor.
To break their ships to driftwood...
They're like a species different from this girl, they are not like her. My sweet siren who understood...

I'm reaching for her, fierce winds blowing, climbing on.
She sings as she watches me...
Singing of the yearning in her heart, the tenderness in that song.
We are children of the sea!

I reach for her hand...
She pulls me up to her...
Singing softly, her spirit flying in the song, reflected in her eyes.
We're on the rocks...
And I stare in shock...
The sweet siren is you, how could anyone not realize?

You took my hand...
I'll never forget...
No, you're my dream, you are the song I can now hear once again.
You're not just a dream...
And I'm not just a dream...
We can leave the cove together, my sweet siren!

I hear your song...
my sweet siren...
You can't hide you kindness from me...
my sweet siren...
When the notes echo...
Oh my sweet siren...
