~Dusk ~ by The Magus We walk to each other in the dim, and dusky room... Outside the window, there's blue sky and green leaves. From a bar of dusty light, I touch you in the gloom... You fix the bow in your hair as I roll back my sleaves. We take each other's arms and dance across the empty floor... Your dress, my vest, whirling about, a smile on each one's face. There is no music, no sound, only us alone as we soar... About this dusky room, dancing with the empty space. Legs moving gracefully, passion driving our feet... This dance taught by our hearts, not by a book. A tango of roses as our lips finally meet... A dark Gypsy dance and a smoldering look. Still we dance, in the dusk, though there's no music to hear... Inside the shadowed room, rays spilling in, outside the sunny June. I long for the dance again, of holding you near... But I swear we shall dance again soon. |
