Magüi Serna: "This has been the worst match of my life"

The Canarian Magüi Serna didn't try to justify her clear defeat against the Bulgarian Magdalena Maleeva (6-1 and 6-1), in the first round at the Australian Open, and criticised her game.

"This has been the worst match of mi life. I leave with the feeling of not having played. I think it has affected me the lack of rhythm after such a long time without playing", the Canarian said.

Serna returned to the courts after the physical problems she had been suffering in the last months. "The injury in principle seems to be over, although you always have some doubts in your head", she said.

The Canarian hopes to recover soon her game, the injuries have placed her out from a place in the top 100 in the rankings.

"My goal for the year is recovering my level of game, and that way I'm sure that I'll be again the one of previous years. The problem is that, with my current ranking, I have to change my schedule plans", she said.
