MAGÜI SERNA, WITH HOPES AND WITH THE BATTERIES CHARGED

The Canarian tennis player Magüi Serna, who will play her second Games, said that she has "an incredible excitement" and that she is "very happy" for going to the Olympic event, although getting medals "is going to be complicated", although everyone goes "with many wishes to get as many medals as possible".

Anyway, the player, who hasn't played a tournament in over a month due to an injury, explains that she is going "with the batteries charged" and that she is going to try "to do as good as possible".

Magüi pointed out the chances of the Spanish Olympic men's team to be in the podium, although she didn't rule out that in the women's team can be "any surprise". Talking about the option in doubles, she said that "there are always surprises".

The Olympic Games started badly for her, with her luggage lost.

The Spanish tennis player Magüi Serna lost her luggage in the journey to Athens from Spain, with all the things to compete and with the uniform that she'll wear in the Opening Ceremony.

The Canarian player, who plays in singles, hasn't been able to train with her usual material and although she has been said that she'll have her luggage in the next hours, she is afraid that she won't have it for the Opening Ceremony and for the beginning of the competition.

"I've been told that if they don't find it, I'll have clothes for the Opening Ceremony. But I hope that they find it", she said some hours before the start of the Ceremony.

And it ended worse, with a clear defeat in the first round. Here the words of a disappointed Magüi after her match against the Russian Myskina.

"In Sydney I was sick and now I had a bad draw", the Canarian said, disappointed for the cruelty of the defeat.

Serna confessed that she never entered in the match, due to her lack of rhythm because of a stop in the competition since Wimbledon, and for the strong wind, which didn't facilitate her task.

The Canarian doesn't give up and expects to be in four years in the next Olympic Games.

"I was looking forward to getting even of the Olympic Games since Sydney, but it hasn't been possible. But I have lost probably to the player in the best moment in the circuit", she said.

Serna leaves the tournament with "a bad taste in her mouth", because "the Games always generate excitement" and you feel bad when you lose although it's against the winner of Roland Garros.

The only good news for Magüi in Athens was "finding my luggage" that was lost at the airport when she arrived in Athens, which was a big upset for her. "I thought I would never recover it, so having found it was like winning a good match", she said.
