| Dolena Ruth Munro was born 13 April 1870 in Golspie, Sutherlandshire, Scotland. Her parents were John Jr. Munro and Jessie Ann McKay. They arrived in Canada probably in the late 1870's and settled in Grassmere, Manitoba. Dolena married Thomas Vincent Pemble Smith in 1885 when she was 15 yrs old. |
| Thomas Vincent Pemble Smith was born 4 July 1870 in Lower Ft. Garry, Red River Settlement, Manitoba. His parents were William Robert Smith, who was a Middleman with the Hudson's Bay Co. and Ann Omand. Ann was Metis, her father, James Omand, being from Orkney Islands, Scotland and her mother, Jane Brown, a Cree woman from the Red River area. |

| Above: Frances Dolena Smith was born 5 February 1888. Her parents are Dolena and Thomas Smith. Frances married William Ernest McCrea on 11 November 1914 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Frances was a demonstrative baker. She passed away in Ottawa Ontario on 16 August 1958. She is buried at Pinecrest Cemetery in Ottawa. |
