The New York City Field Trip
Well, it all started at 3:30am on October 25, 2002, and ended at 3:30am October 26, 2002.
It is called the Syracuse University Architecture Department's annual First Year Trip to New York City, specially subtitled for 1/4 of the class: Jamie Cooper's Death March. Jamie Cooper is my professor, and after a four hour bus ride to NYC he marched us down the lenght of manhattan for over 58 city blocks! We stoped only for one potty break, one half hour lunch, and dinner in China town. After dinner we marched about seven more blocks to meet the buses and embark on our four hour ride home. By the way, I can't sleep on moving vehicles. I only managed to catch a 5 min. nap on the way up and about an hour and a half on the way back. I slept in until four in the afternoon, and was still not completely recovered the next day.
I'm told the this feel trip is the highlight of the year, but I don't think I'm recovered enough yet to see it as a good experience.  Perhaps when I feel better I'll write a really positive version of my experience, but until then, this is what you get.

Ok, here's the much awaited "positive version of my experience":  Well, although the walking was a pain in the ass, and my pictures all came out funny(with a couple of really cool ones mixed in), and we didn't get to see ground zero, it was a pretty cool trip. My class is full of a great bunch of people and they were the ones who made the trip so fantastic. Well, that and the fact that New York is a kick ass city.
