Money Management:

second semester

* This semester, we're going to try to simulate the game LIFE. Today we figured out how much money you have.

We'll use this amount of income for the rest of this "game".  See me if you have questions.

* Then, we'll do a bit of budgeting

We'll do more later, but we need to figure out how much of our money we can use for purchasing a car, a home, utilities, etc

* Then we'll learn about buying a car.

Ch. 8 is all about automobiles. We'll do a project where we "buy" a car and figure out how much it will be to lease it, for gas, for car insurance, etc.

* Then we'll learn about buying a house.

That will be our biggest project. I'll save you the headaches and just discuss it later

* We'll throw in our own ideas too.

Tomorrow, we'll make cards with good and bad things on them. ex.) "You got a flat tire and need an oil change. Pay $40." or "You got a babysitting job this Friday. Earn $40."

* We'll also do some investing, talk more about budgeting, plan a vacation, and factor in leisure activities.

* That's all I got so far

If you have any ideas in making this class or this "game" more enjoyable, please let me know. This is your class too.

Do you think we should make an acutal board game?
