Problems I have had to deal with
Keep in mind that I have a very good relationship with John Ladner, in Dodge Truck sales and Dan Fox, my service writer. So far I have not gotten into any disputes with them about any warranty work. All of the information below has been taken right from the warranty invoices. I believe all of the PN's to be accurate and should be the same no matter where you go. The dreaded steering pop noise
Customer states there is a popping noise when first moving the truck and during braking then accelerating, there is a popping felt on the floor and in the steering wheel.
Cause:
19204101 Bearing, Intermediate shaft support-Replace TSB# 19-05-99 Clunk/Rattle felt in steering coloum

4997 on inspection found that the steering column intermediate is noisy when going over bumps
replaced intermediate shaft & retested for any noise
complete (FC 68 19204101 0.4 hours)
Cab popping noise
Customer states slow turn on an incline the cab is popping.
Cause:
13280190 Preformed TSB #23-065-97

4997 on inspection found no visible faults but found a TSB that covers this condition
removed rear cab mounts & trimmed the metal insert & reinstalled mounts
complete (FC XX 13280190 0.5hrs)
Under hood light
Customer states the under hood has never worked
Cause:
08505101 bulbs, interior-test and replace

4997 on inspection found the hood lamp bulb to be burned out
replaced hood lamp bulb

Bad lock remote
Customer states that one of the remotes is inop.
Cause:
08802803 batteries, keyless entry-replace

4997 on inspection found that one of the remotes does not work / found a bad connection on one of the circiut boards in the
rke / repaired connection & reprogrammed

The dipstick won't fit
Customer states that the trans. dipstick will not stay down in place after being pushed in after checking.
Cause:
21101531 tube, oil filler-replace

4997 on inspection found that the dipstick for the transmission pops back up when you try to push it down / installed new dipstick & rechecked

Bad power window
Customer states the drivers side window about 1/2 way down jumps
Cause:
23341000 rep l wdw

Check out dr. frt. power window. Found that the window jumps 1/2 way down. Pulled the door panel off and lubed up the window regulator
Retest and the window works great.
Clicking glove box
Customer states the glove box when closing is making a catching noise
Cause:
600 interior
4997 23-11-35-00 .2hrs
Check out the glove box and it makes a catching noise. Found that the glove box was rubbing. Trimmed some of the box away and lubed tested and all is working great.
Hesitation during highway driving
Customer states at highway speeds and then accel. there is a bad hesitation and customer was told by another shop and on the internet there was a TSB for this problem.

(FM) reflashed the PCM. Found a reflash for PCM and reflashed it. Retested out and all ok.
Popping sound coming from the stereo system
Cust. states there is some popping coming from the radio and cust.states the radio sounds fine (not speakers)
Cause:

(68) Check out the radio and when hit the radio there is a loud popping noise you can hear coming from the speakers. I replaced the radio and retest out all is working OK.
(I had to go back about a month later for this problem again)
Cust. states there was a lot of popping coming from the rear speakers then the rear speakers went dead

(18) Check out the rear speakers and found that there was sound from the radio to the amp but not from the amp to the rear speakers. I replaced the amp and retest out and all is working great.
Slow passenger side power window
Cust. states the pwr. window on the pass. side is moving real slow

20601 Pass side window will not hardly work.
23-34-10-*07 .5 hrs Check out the pass side window and found that the window motor is very weak. I replaced the motor/regulator, and retest out, all ok.
Bad fuel sending unit
Cust. states fuel gauge is reading over 1/4 tank off, and the truck ran out of gas
Cause: E
14500103 Module, fuel pump replace

20601 Fuel gauge is reading 1/4 of a tank but the truck runs out of fuel.
14-50-01-03 1.2 hrs
14-50-01-61 .7 hrs
Check out fuel gauge and it tested out great. I found that the fuel tank is 1/4 tank but the gauge is reading 1/2 a tank. I replaced the fuel pump and sending unit. Retest out, all is working great now, is reading 1/4 of a tank.
