The Magnolia Revue Presents The Real Blues
The architects of the blues may have been Charlie Patton, and Robert Johnson;however it was McKinley Morganfield, aka Muddy Waters and Chester Arthur Burnett, aka Howlin' Wolf who laid the foundation, and built the house of the blues. They put electrified sweat, pain, and the bump and grind to the simple little dires and ditties which were reflective back to  the harsh times of slavery, sharecropping, prison work farms, and just trying to make a living under trying times.
Muddy Waters  first recorded for the Library Of Congress between 1941 and 1942  down on Stovall Plantation, just a stone throw from Clarksdale,MS.The location of  The Delta Blues Museum.
Howlin' Wolf had a rough edge and a lot of force with the blues. He was first recorded by Sam Phillips in Memphis in 1948.
Joe Hinton, took the rough cut blues and made them smooth.Do you remember the hit "Funny",or maybe,"Baby Please".
