An outside vendor is used to compare costs of possible methods, eliminate the purchase of equipment to handle the waste, so that there is no need to build a storage facility for waste, and employees dont have to worry about handling the waste but can instead focus on making computer chips. Our contact collects the waste once a month. It is then sent to a recycling plant in Chicago to make copper oxide and copper carbonate, which would be sold to other corporations for use in their chemical processes. This process is very easy to do; one simply calls and the waste is taken away. It is transported as a hazardous material labeled as corrosive and a class II waste. There are also fewer environmental concerns than other methods because the waste is being converted to a useful chemical and wont end up in a landfill or in the water sources.

Prices based on gallons:
  • $100 per 55-gallon drum (times 2)
  • $150 freight charger per 55-gallon drum (times 2)
  • $500 per month for 105.68 gallons
  • Calculations: 50 cents per liter for waste removal, 75 cents for freight charge. The grand total is $1.25 per liter of waste
  • No money to pay employees or anything else. Prices include everything

    Advantages:
  • Cheaper than other methods of dealing with waste
  • Dont need employees that have the task of diluting or solidifying waste
  • Waste is recycled to make something useful such as copper oxide
  • Save money on chemicals and equipment

    Disadvantages:
  • No way to get profit from the waste
  • If the waste removal company messes up, Magnified Plaid, Inc. would be held responsible because it was our waste.
