development to become a social photographer. In the year 2000 she started serious focussing on making
photographs of daily life in the form of portraits, city scapes, and social reportages . The strength of her work
lays in portraiting people and connections between people, whether animals or objects.
Sometimes she is merely registrating , more often she is in close contact with the models in the role
of stage-manager.
Other characteristics of her photography are those moments of accumulated creativity, instinct, timing and
communication , as well as unique encounters.
Borsjes photographs originate from concentration, love and instinct; or a feeling for the right moment and
composition. Others see her work as strong, gentle or funny with original compositions and restful images.
She has lived and worked mainly in Amsterdam. Although she has followed some photo courses at the
Amsterdam Center of Photography and Fotogram, she is a mainly autodidact photographer
of Dutch inhabitants, in cooperation with Anjo Karstens. Their subject was city people with their bikes.
Out of 6000 photos, one of hers was chosen for the front cover of the book "Kijk ons" (Look at Us).
