2000
Sometime prior to December 21, 2000: The first chapter in the chilling saga How I Almost Killed Renaldo

November 8, 2000: added a couple of new sobstories
Enlarged the engraving collage from new Struve & Sneff

November 6, 2000: filled out Olleh page with cover scan.
Added South Specific page with LP scan.

June 4, 2000: Added lyric sheets for Struve tape page. Also standardized the layout a little.

May 29, 2000:Standardized the elbow and arabic pages (prettied them up a little). Added a page for a scan of a review of Arabic, from 1983.
March 15, 2000:Added some pictures, c/o Dean Brosig - scans of the LP labels for the original Larvae, plus a scan of a rare Larvae-era pin! Also added a link to Vinnie Coulman's Mikael Djurvall Tribute.

January 25, 2000: Finally, an Olleh Olleh Rotcod page. A re-release of this album, on CD for the first time ever, should be expected later this year from EMG!
Also Thanks to Chris Combs for a new Title in Limbo graphic. I'll post it soon.

January 20, 2000: Welcome to the new year (stay tuned until 2000 years have PASSED before there will be talk of milleniums round these parts!) Finally added some graphics for Title in Limbo. The title clips a little on the right, but I'll have to fix it later. There are still so many things to fix and add on this page, but I've been a lazy bum, alas. I'll try to improve myself this year, my 30th on Earth. BTW in a couple of weeks this page will be 3 years old! How to commemorate? Maybe I'll finally put up a page for Olleh!

1999
August 27, 1999: I've been adding in new graphics for the page for the new version of Struvé They look great!
Here's one of the coolest things about having a site like this.

June 15, 1999: Thanks to Dawud Kuttaab, we have the complete spoken section at the end of "A Sob Story"

May 18, 1999: sorry there's been so little new for so long. I had to go off and get married! :-) please forgive

The new release of Struvé and Sneff has been out for a couple of months and it's wonderful. It sounds great, and brings back the two missing tracks, lost since the cassette went out of print back in '79. The packaging is very impressive, including long-lost RatL art -- practically worth the price alone. You can order it from EMG Records (see the Leery Links page).

This just in from Renaldo of Renaldo and the Loaf fame, "Been busy in the studio working on a project which will be a collaboration with a Portsmouth band called Screeper. It is a cover version of an old Kinks song "See My Friends". Screeper also have a US release due in a couple of months on Zip Records called Mister E, I get a name check as I did a few incidentals on it."
I'll keep my eyes open for this material.

Additionally, I've posted some more Sob Stories, in the lyrical archaeology department.

February 10,1999: Tom Timony of EMG Records informed me last week that the new remastered Struvé will be released soon!! Check out the cover on the Struve tape page.
Also received a great new sob story about some of the lyrics to Hambu Hodo.

December 4, 1998: Added a couple more Sob Stories and fixed the discography a little. Notice separate page for original Sneff tape with graphics and such! (thanks again to the late Mikael Djurvall)
Also added a new navi table to the top of the important pages, plus an all-new links page!

November 18, 1998: I filled out the Yhpargocsid some more with compilations and added separate entry for LP version of S&S. Let me know if there are any more titles I'm missing! Also corrected poor character formatting in the new Struvé text.

November 9, 1998: Chris Combs brought it to my attention that Ralph America have recently released a limited-edition pressing (1000 copies) of Title in Limbo, RatL's collaboration with the Residents. This is the first time this recording has ever been available in its entirety on CD, and it's also only Ralph America's 4th release. Prior to this, only a few tracks have been available, as filler on a Residents CD (Not Available) but the currently available version of this omits them. This new Turtle in Lima is priced at a somewhat steep $21.99, but at least it exists !!
Oddly, the Ralph page says of the music, "nobody seemed to remember how this union came about or even much about the process of making the album. But, the musical results are unforgetable." I guess that's pretty typical Residents fare, but it's kind of evasive -- too bad they can't pay more homage to those crazy boys from Portsmouth...they don't even say who RatL are!
If you'd like to check it out, there's an "audio collage" on the Ralph site you can sample.

September 22, 1998: Renaldo M. informed me on September 21 that RatL Play Struve and Sneff is going to be rereleased by the Esoteric Music Group. This new CD will return S&S to it's original mix and continuity, which was altered quite a bit for the LP and subsequent TEC Tones CD. There are also a couple of tracks which were not included on any Ralph or TEC Tones version, so they'll be seeing light of day for the first time since 1979! I haven't heard it yet, but I'm pretty excited to.
Notice that the Struve page now has Brian's new notes for the upcoming release. He discusses the RatL/S&S rapport at the time, as well as the difference between the two versions. Mikael Djurvall, RatL fan extraordinaire, has also sent me a scan of the cassette insert for the original S&S, which I will also post soon. Thanks, Mikael!

March 23, 1998: Tom Timony at EMG informed me that EMG are planning a new Renaldo and the Loaf release:
Olleh Olleh, an LP-only British release from 1985 will be released on CD, under the auspices of the EMG label, along with "some odds and ends". Hopefully this means lots of unreleased gems!
Renaldo says this will probably be available next year.

Tom also says of the Renaldo catalog, "I plan on re-doing packages , bumping sound up to 20 bit [and adding] new inserts with EMG logo etc."
I'll try to keep folks posted here of new developments. Thanks to Tom for the info and his guarding of this wondrous music!
