| A school assignment: 1) The day is a ship sailing constantly over a never-ending shore. 2) The day is pale and ashy as a man on the verge of death. 3) The day is soft and warm like childhood memories seeming as fairy tales once upon a time. 4) The day is fragile and calm as a spider web on a breeze. 5) The day is dark and shadowy as is the mind of an artist drifting inconsistently over his palette of gloom. 6) The day is bleak and emotionless as a womans tears that she cant cry. 7) The day is like a poem gliding gracefully through lovers hearts. 8) The day is like a pillows embrace: soft against your cheek and comforting in your arms. 9) The day is like a nightmare, shocking, alluring, and startling to your eyes. 10) The day is like a whisper, intimate, discreet and soft. |

| 1) The day was a nightmare from which I never thought I would wake. 2) The day was eerie. The air that filled it was rank and heavy on my brow. 3) The day was a roller coaster ride. Everywhere I gazed excitement burned into my mind. 4) The day was mine. All that happened fell into my hands. I was a sorceress, a puppeteer, indeed a god! 5) The day was a prism filled with water reflecting rainbows on the contrasting bleakness of the parched earth and piercing dry air. 6) The day was a boulder placed upon the back of a slave, heavy and scornful. 7) The day was the whip that drove the people previously enslaved to rebellion. 8) The day was an unknown memory sealed in the back-minds of the weary and tortured servants of time. 9) The day was a simile, acting metaphorically, painting abstract portraits on the wings of doves.
