Welcome to Saint Anthony School, Manila friends network!

"Oh dear St. Anthony, fount of hope and pride.  True home of undying bliss, in life our only guide.  We thy loyal children, sing of love and praise.  For in the dimness of life, to thee shall we abide.  Oh hail, oh hail laud his glories to the sky.  Oh hail, oh hail for in thy bosom shall we lie.  For in the light of thy star we pray to God from afar...may we live for thy noble aim, and forever thy name proclaim...."

Saint Anthony School in Singalong Manila was where my brother-cousin Alvin and I went to school, he since 3rd grade and I from 1st year up to 4th year highschool.

A good school our only complaints were, it was difficult to get a jeepney ride during the rush hour and even harder to get to (or leave out of) during heavy downpour as flood immediately forms around it.

The many friends that I've made, most last to this day will always be cherished along with the memories.

The Barkadas

Babebies

From left-right, standing then sitting:

Jennifer Serrano, became a temporary/probationary member because of Nelson Aquino's amorous pursuits.  She didn't make the cut though.   We've lost touch after graduation and never really heard from her since.
Ma. Milagros Gutierrez Norella, now Talabucon was our studious and often serious barkada.  She was also the richest among all of us, money-wise.  Milag now lives in the US with her husband Erick and one son Joshua.  She is at the moment busy organising her new home.
Me! Mary Ann Grace Casas Eliserio.
Agnes Rosaldo, now Greaves.  Our dance-step choreographer along with Vi, she was also the math whiz with Sandra and my debate partner.  Agnes now resides in the US and is busy with her first-born son Audric who is equally doted on by her husband, Andrew.
Sandra Sartaguda Camantigue, now Adap.  She was like an older sister to me because, even though we were the same age, she knew so much more than I ever did at the time, especially on the subject of boys.  Sandra resides in the US with husband Dan and kids Kevin, Kenneth and Katrina.
Vilma Taladoc Tan, now Aranza.  She's my partner in poetry and music composition, script-writing and similar projects.  Also a good dancer, she and Agnes gave us the moves.  Vi is based in Manila with her husband Mon and their two kids, Tyrone and Trisha.  Tyrone is now an Anthonian as well.
Ma. Ruby Sucgang.  The only remaining single person in our group, she was also our group's baby being the smallest and the most child-like...I think at the time, we acted the same, very innocent and sometimes naive.   Ruby has joined me in the UAE although she is in Dubai and works in one of the software companies based in the Dubai Internet City.

USAF International

The boys are in the afternoon classes and the girls are in morning classes.  My seat in the morning was occupied by Lloyd Eleazar Vasquez in the afternoon.  One day, I wrote a note on my desk - more a 'note-to-self' than a communicative one but he replied!  So I replied back and so did he and so on until we needed to thumb-tack/paste/tape wads of notes under our desks because the replies kept getting longer.

Then the inevitable first meeting took place, where we had the jitters, and the friendship that followed was a roller coaster ride that is going up till now.  They called themselves USAF International short for Union of Something I've Absolutely Forgotten (I'm sorry!!!).  Lloyd is "The Love".  the rest are:  Czarnie Jimenez, Nelson Aquino, Ronald Aniban-Boone, Jessie Joven Javier, Joennel Borja, and Eric Sison.

Lloyd is currently in New Zealand and we're expecting wedding bells to ring for him soon.  Czarnie is a seaman, also happily married with children.  Nelson has two girls and is married to Meng.  Ronald is in the US with two sons and married as well.  Jessie is also married with one daughter.  Joennel and Eric we have not heard from in a long time.

There were other barkadas, or groups, like ours and the friendships in those groups continue up to this day.  In fact, we are currently busy with preparations for our batch's highs chool reunion.

If you're a batchmate and do not know where to go, try  this link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SAS88/  You need a yahoo ID for easier access to the other features of the group like photos, files and the database.  It is also "members only" so you will have to register.
