job find out whether the artifacts are
genuine and a possible history that would go along with them. The only clue you
have is that the artifacts were supposedly removed from the Sphinx and from

Teacher Notes
This webquest was designed by Susan Baker. Please feel free to use it with
the reading of the novel the The Golden Goblet,by Eloise Jarvis McGraw. It can also be used
during the teaching of Ancient Cultures units in the Social Studies Curriculum. There are no correct
answers for the artifacts. It is up to the students to come up with valid and reasonable possiblilties.I wanted to
give my students practice with problem solving and working out a mystery with a creative conclusion.
