Knockoffs, Page 5
Isn't it crazy how you can search ebay for hours looking for that special model, and you don't come up with anything? Well, on the same day I bought the MM-knockoffs on page 4, I also found these! They are all really light, brittle feeling plastic and they are all stamped "Hong Kong."
Yea. I know. They are horribly ugly, but they belong here! Now the knockoff FAS has some mares to hang out with! There are three: one weird orange one, one that supposed to be a grey blanket, and one that is perhaps bay sabino? I still don't know from where these come from, but aren't they cute all in a row like that? {ebay auction, April 2007}
I'm a sucker for the traditional Running Mare (don't know why she's called that, she's trotting!) Anyway, here's one of the two bays I own. I suspect she may be a chalky, but I'm kinda' dumb when it comes to that stuff! Anyway, here's her own mini-me, a Hong Kong knockoff! This little girl is the same size as the FAM clones above, and is copied so well, even down to the weird messed-up eye on the left side.At one time, she may have been buckskin, but now she's an odd sun-faded color. I like this copy a lot! The copier really paid attention to the original, even giving her that fat little belly the traditional mare is know for.
This may seem to be a bit of a stretch, but I think that this classic-sized GC (Fire Flame) is pretty darn close to the Breyer Classic Arabian Mare. The legs seem to be in the same posistion, but "pushed" inward, and GC really botched the face up, but still pretty close!
