| Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening, Prologue A/N: Zelda is not mine! I wish, but it isnt! Ok, onto the story :) Link was sailing on his boat. everything seemed fine. What he didn't notice was the black clouds rolling in from behind him. He was steering his ship to no particular direction. After he left the land of Hyrule, it was kind of peaceful out on the sea. He looked over the horizon, but didn't see anything. Nothing, but water, and a seagull. The seagull landed on the boat. it skittered about for a little bit, then jumped on Link's head. "Hey!" Link yelled as the bird pecked his head. "I thought you were a seagull, not a woodpecker!" He tried to swat the bird off of his head, but to no avail. Finally, the bird flew away. It seemed kind of disturbed. Link shrugged and went back to sailing. Link thought he saw some land, but as he neared it, there was none. "Darn," Link said dissapointedly. Suddenly, the wind picked up. Link felt a rain drop on his head. He saw a flash of lightning then heard a crack of thunder. "Uh-oh" Link grimaced. "I'm in for a tough ride" Link said disdainfully and braced himself for sailing the rough seas. It started pouring cats and dogs. Another flash of lightning, another crack of thunder. "Well, it isn't peaceful anymore," Link said, kind of wishing it was. He looked up, just in time to see the sail's rope coming undone. He climbed up the mast, and grabbed onto the rope. Just then, a beam of lightning hit the boat........ Marin is walking along the beach. She saw someone unconsious on the shore. Her hopes went soaring. 'There's land on ther other side!' She thought excitedly. She went and got Tarin, and Tarin carried him home... A/N: This is my first fic for Zelda. Since i never saw a Links Awakening fic, i thought i'd try one. Link was tossing and turning in bed. Marin was starting to worry. 'That must be one big dreamer' Marin thought. Suddenly, Link opened his eyes and wiped his face. "Z-Zelda?" He asked. "Who's Zelda?" Marin asked. "Never mind. Who are you? Where am I?" Link asked "I'm Marin, and your on Kolohint Island, in Mabe Village." "Kolohint Island...... Mabe Village........" Link repeated. Marin laughed. "Never heard of it?" She asked. "Nope." He answered. "You have now. What's your name?" Marin said. "Oh... sorry. I'm Link" Link said. "You might want to talk to Tarin if your going to explore." Marin said and helped Link up. Link was still a little dizzy, but had balance on his side. Link went over to the man he thought was Tarin. "Hi Link!" Tarin said. "How did you know my name?" Link asked. "I saw it on the back of this sheild i found a little bit after you were brought here." Tarin said and handed him this sheild. "Thanks. Did you see a shipwreck by any chance?" Link asked hopefully. "Nope, i didnt." Tarin answered. "Ok. Thanks anyways." Link said. 'I must be pretty far out.' Link thought Link walked out of the cabin and out onto fresh freen grass. He smelled the scent of mildew in the air. 'Morning' Link thought. He walked around and through the fog, Bow-Wow attacked him. He used his sheild and Bow-Wow broke a tooth. Madam MeowMeow ran out of the house to see what was going on. "You hurt my poor little Bow-Wow!! How dare you!!" She yelled and slapped Link. "He attacked me first!!" Link yelled and walked away, knowing he's not supposed to hit a lady. "The nerve!" Madam yelled and stamped her foot, then walked over to Bow-Wow to tend to his injuries. Link traveled around a little, blindly through the fog. He bumped into a woman sweeping the sidewalk. "Sorry madam" Link said quickly. "uh.. why are you sweeping the sidewalk?" "You dont see anyone else doing it, do you?" She countered. "How can you through this fog?" Link asked ruefully. He walked inside the house. He saw an old man snoring peacefully and the phone off of it's hook. When he heard the word mice he hung up. "I hate mice" He muttered. He wandered outside of the house, squinting to see. He saw another house through the fog. He walked inside and saw it was a telephone booth. He picked up the phone. "Ah! You must be Link! I'm Ulrira. You will find something useful at the beach." "What exactly is it?" Link asked. "You'll find out. Head South, young one, and you'll find something useful! bye." *Click* "Someone out of his mind. Might as well go south. What have i got to lose." He asked himself. He wandered around until he saw a road leading south. When he got to the beach, the fog was gone. Still, Link managed to trip over a rock. "Wait a second. That wasn't there when i got here." Link said and got pegged in the leg with a rock. "Ouch!" Link yelled. He used his sheild to block some rocks. They ricoched off of the sheild and hit it. It ran away. He walked East a little and saw some spikey things. He used his sheild to push them out of the way. He wandered East and south and east some more when he found his sword. Suddenly, Kaepora Gaebora flew down. "So you are the keeper of this sword. You are the chosen one. Now you must step forward and take a new challenge. You must collect the 8 instruments of the sirens. Then bring them to the wind fish's egg, resting atop of Mount Tamaranch. Go now, north to the mysterious woods." With those words the owl flew off with a gaping Link. |
