Adam Sima's The Legend of Zelda : The Tale of the Tiger's Eye
After the events in OoS and OoA, Link decided to set sail and go to sea once again, this time making extra precautions and looking for even small signs that a storm could come, and seeing that everything was clear, took off.  He let the boat ride the sea for a while before putting the sail up.  A little while after he left land, he wondered what Zelda was doing back in Hyrule.  He was out in the open ocean by then, and saw only the ocean and seagulls flying above.

He had been at sea for days, and was running very low on supplies, but hadn't seen land at all in the vast blue.  He cut back on how much he ate so he could have food at least for two more days.  He often climbed to the crow's nest to check around to try and find land.  Once, when he was up there, he fell asleep and didn't wake till sunset.  When he woke, he was excited by what he had seen in the distance - land!  He put all sails up and headed right to it, but didn't get there until the next morning.  He had stayed up the whole night to make sure he'd get to the island.

When he went ashore and docked the boat, he noticed how white the sand on the beach was.  He found some coconuts on the beach and cracked them open to drink the milk inside.  "Not too bad" he thought as he looked up at the sky.  He was relaxing on the beach, when suddenly, out of nowhere, it started to rain.  "I don't want to get wet!," Link though as he headed for shelter in a nearby cave.  Sure, he could've used the boat for shelter, but he'd had enough of that boat for a while.  So he went in the cave instead.  It looked as if it was a pretty big cave, so he decided to stay at the edge of it and watch the rain.

Some time after he was lying in the cave, he was bored of watching the rain, so he decided to explore the cave a bit.  He didn't have any fire to make a torch though, so he just looked off into the darkness and waited for his eyes to adjust.  He went into the dark and realized that it was a rather small cave and it was just long.  He sat down in the dark and thought he heard heavy breathing, but ignored it.  Then something suddenly slammed into his head, knocking him unconscious.  When he woke up, with a terrible headache, he was laying in a bed in a house...
House that Link wakes up in...
You were tossing and turning...
