Problem number one and first repair, when I test drove the truck, it drove fine, but I didn't take it out on the freeway (what a mistake that was) so on my way home, I got on I-5, thats when I noticed I had a small vibration. No big deal, u-joints right? Wrong, replaced them and the vibration got worst, so off to the driveline shop, $150 dollars later for a bent tube, I bolt it in and take off down the road, the vibration is almost completely gone, but I still can feal some, so I take the truck down, have the tires checked for balanced, their good. Well need less to say, my puppy been kicked hard on this, I'm not to happy about my mistake.
Well I got to messing around underneath the old beast, my vibration problem has been getting worst, when I noticed that the output shaft on the transfer case has to much play. So off to sears to buy 1-5/16 socket, it doesn't fit, the O/D is to big, so off to a local tool shop. The new socket fits, go to loosen up the nut (to check out the bearing) and its practically finger tight, so I torque it down to spec, take the truck for a drive, vibration gone. I figure what may have happen was the bent tube on the drive shaft hammered the output shaft and loosened up the nut. I'm sure this did not do the bearing any good either,
so I figure I'll need to replace the bearing later on.

My second problem, the truck has a holly carb on it (Holley and me
do not get along), I messed with it for a couple of months, but could not
get the truck to run good, so off went the holley and I put on a used Carter.
After having to put some time in setting up the linkage the carb runs really
good.

My third problem shows up, my tail lights quit working, so after playing
with them for a few hours and watching them do funny things (both filaments
in brake light would light up), I figured it out, bad ground. My problem
was the bed is wood thus not having a very good ground, so I just took
a nice thick wire and attached it from the frame to a metal brace on the
bed. The lights work great, nice and bright.

Battery dies, no big deal, I replace battery and the cables, thats
when I noticed that the ground wire to the core support was broken. So
after I got that all squared away, I see that my fuel gauges are working
correctly now, cool. Amazing what a good ground will do.

Found a breather assembly on e-bay, so now I can replace the open one thats on the truck, I perfer the factory ones, they tend not get as dirty while up in the hills.
