MY PASSION

In the Soviet Union when I was in the 'comsomol' (Communist Union Youth Organization), I had to read the novel by Nicolay Ostrovski, "How Steel is Hardened". The hero of that book is Pavka Karchagin. After the revolution in Russia, there was a civil war (it continued from 1917-1922). Pavka Karchagin fought against counterrevolutionary gangs; then he rebuilt the ruined country and ruined his health. He was paralyzed and while he lay in bed before his death he wrote revolutionary books. Because he could not write the normal way, he utilized a special apparatus.

Comment: Those books glorified the Soviet Union. From those books we learned about the Soviet Union. We know now that other books could not appear because there was censorship in the Soviet Union.
Pauka Korchagin for me is an example. With the same passion as Pauka Karchagin who glorified the Soviet Power, I will unmask the Soviet Dictatorship to the bitter end because it brought many troubles to the Soviet people, especially Jews.

The Soviet Government suppressed the Jewish culture, language and synagogues. We did not have Jewish regions. All Jews were dispersed among Russians. During World War II and also after the war, the Russian government practiced and encouraged Anti-Semitism. Jews knew nothing about Judaism and were Jews only by the mark on their Passports. (The Passport was a very important document in the Soviet Union).

I will continue to write about that problem because the situation could be repeated in Russia or other countries. In the time of the Soviet Dictatorship, there were good words, but few knew about bad deeds.
