About Love

People fall in love. Then they marry, have a family and have children. It is very important that they love each other. If they do, the family will more likely be preserved.

That is the theory. Life is more complicated. Years ago, the father and mother chose the brides and grooms for their children. The bride and groom had the same nationality and religion as their parents. They also usually fell in love after they lived together as spouses. The father's decision was final. That was not so bad. Then there probably were fewer divorce cases than there are now.

Right now in America there are often mixed marriages. Under Jewish law if the mother is not Jewish the children are not Jewish. They lose their Judaism. If the mother is Jewish, the children are Jewish. They are included in Judaism if the father does not interfere with that. I think that mixed families have more problems than non mixed families. The children of mixed families have problems too. The parents have to have responsibility before their children can become responsible.

Right now society tolerates a mixed marriage. It is interesting that after WWII there were created more than one hundred new national states. What does nationality mean?

It is very strange that science didn't say anything about it. That area is restricted for investigation. But we saw that breeding new breeds among animals is stated on scientific grounds.

Which nation do you prefer? That is a matter of taste. About taste there is no argument.

In the Soviet Union towns and cities did not have Jewish regions.
In the Soviet Union there were often mixed marriages as the people wanted to receive the designation in their passport* "Russian" for a better life for their children and a career.

* All people in the Soviet Union had an internal passport. A child in a mixed family could choose the nationality of only one of his relatives. When someone enrolled in a job, college, etc. he had to show his passport.

Who would have thought that the designated nationality would have created a problem for immigration? For emigration would be better Jews, then Russian. It is easier take immigration and we could receive more benefits.
